We saw this as we approached the Bosphorus bridge on a cruise tour of the area. Richly ornate but small in size.

Very nice place to spend time! It is very busy over there. It is facing the Bosphorus and there are a lot of places to eat! Kumpir is the must-try thing in Ortaköy. It is available in all of the restaurants around there. Nice view...More

Everybody knows Büyük Mecidiye Camii, but hardly any tourist knows it under this name. It is, quite simply, Ortaköy Mosque. The view of this mosque with the Bosphorus Bridge behind it is famous all over the world. You can see it when you are in...More

This beautiful mosque is well known as Ortakoy Mosque and it’s located in an amazing place by the waters close to Bosphorus. This is the smallest mosque I have witnessed in Turkey but it’s very simple and beautiful. Landscape is breathtaking and surrounded with good...More

Very fotogenic mosque on European side, close to 1. Bridge in Ortaköy, Beşiktaş. Famous for Kumpir (filled potatoe) and waffles. Many cafés with view on the mosque. Interior is very much worth seering too. Reachable by bus (from Kabataş tram) or taxi.

This mosque is just by the pier, restaurants and tea houses of Ortakoy, overlooking the Bosphorus and the Asian side of Istanbul. The architecture is very unique - a blend of European and Ottoman influences. The prayer area is small compared to other iconic mosques...More

It felt like magic when I had entered this building from a busy street. It was so calm, quiet and relaxing. We were basically alone in this beautiful place. I could even take pictures lying on the thick carpets. Never miss if you have a...More

The Ortakoy Mosque is also called Buyuk Mecidiye Camii or Grand Imperial Mosque of Sultan. This is a splendid little Ottoman Baroque, yes Baroque, mosque featured in a number of Istanbul pictures. It's white exterior has only one dome and two minarets. It was designed...More
