Avoid this. I was in Istanbul for a few days and was always curious about the whirling dervishes so I jumped at the chance to attend this performance. It was just tedious and boring. I knew the performance was supposed to be for 1 hour...More

I expected somthing quite different, perhaps a lively dance, but instead I found I was an onlooker at a ceremony which required no onlookers at all. It was serene, meditative and mesmerising and left me with a feeling of calm.

I went to hogdapasha center today at 4 pm it was closed , I know that the show starts around 7 but at least there should have been some one there even the gates were closed had it closed down ?

The centre opens at 6.15pm - for a performance that starts at 7pm. It is not open during the day.
