The best thing about the bridge is that pedestrians can walk on it. Really cool restaurants along the side of the river. a great place to spend a great evening.

The bridge is better viewed from afar, at night is illuminated and magestic but you don't need to cross it unless you want the badge of honor to say you did.

The Bosphorus or ATATURK bridge to me, unfortunately you cannot walk from one end to other except the Istanbul Marathon in fall, but the view to all sides are great, Be a passenger at passenger seat and go to Europe side to Anatolia side to...More

It joins the European side of Istanbul to its Eastern side. However, we were on a day tour in a coach when we crossed the bridge. Not much of the continent difference was clear due to speed of the coach and distance form the shores....More

Walk from Europe to Asia and see the unbelievable view on top of the bridge. See both sides so you can feel how big is the Bosphor and Istanbul itself.

Looks beautiful during the day and night. Beautifully illuminated during the night. Looks gorgeous from the Bosporus ferry and even from the plane. Also looks great from Ortakoy.

Magnificent view of the bridge from the Radisson Bosphorus hotel. The Bridge connects the Asian side to the European side. Lights on the bridge at night are a sight to watch.

Istanbul’s most famous street, pedestrianized Istiklal
Caddesi (Independence Avenue), throbs day and night
and offers a fantastic array of architectural sights,
shops, treats, and throngs upon teeming throngs of
people. At the avenue’s northeastern end is expansive
Taksim Square, thought by many to be the very heart of
the city, with many of Turkey’s most renowned
restaurants and some of Europe’s most happening

As far as I know, the Bridge is not open for walking during normal times. It is open once a year during the Istanbul Marathon during every fall. That time they close it to the public and open for running & walking.

Try the public tram system.I'll try to find out which station you need to alight. Also depends where you're travelling from but the trams are really good.
