We visited during Ramadan and every evening the parks were crammed packed with families waiting to break the fast. Real carnival atmosphere. With the back drop of the mosques it is so beautiful and so kept very clean and feels very safe.

The Sultanahmet district features some really impressive buildings and some of istanbul's best food joints in the vicinity. Make sure that you spend sufficient time exploring the area.

One of the best places in the world to walk and people watch. Easy access to the tourist hot spots, hundreds of little cafes and plenty of upscale restaurants. And the rain makes getting around very easy.

With so many unmissable attractions within a mere
stroll of each other – and all set around the site of
an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an
overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a
prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly
epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the
Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this
relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to

Greetings My wife and I will be landing at Istanbul, Ataturk airport for a 10 hour stop before continuing our way to Ulaanbaatar. Flight is scheduled to arrive to Istanbul at 9:30 and then depart at 19:20 on a Friday. Considering all there is to do at the airport related to immigration, passport check, counter check in and so, would you recommend a visit to Sultanahmet? How much do you think would it cost to get there and return to the airport by taxi and having couple kebabs for lunch? Thank you so much for your help.

I heard people in egypt are annoying and hassling, especially taxi drivers, does anyone know if there is some car and driver available for hire for a full week instead of having a nightmare with taxis for the duration of my stay

There are some drivers, but all depends on personal knowledge, try to check with someone who visited before and they will help in this regards
