We came here because we bought the museum pass. However, we enjoyed the place. There is detailed explanation about Turkish history in the museum. Moreover, you can see great amount of historical stuff in an air-conditionered rooms.

Considering the long and rich history of Constantinople and Istanbul, the collection is not particularly impressive. May be a lot of the good things were already being moved to museums in other countries. Having said that, still worth a day's visit.

I'm a fan of museums but this one wasn't well organised. A lot of it was shut off. Very little information on each of the exhibits. Wouldn't bother going again.

The Museum is well organised into sections and by period, with information in both Turkish and English. Being interested in the Hittite period, I was delighted to find plenty of material from the Empire and Neo-Hittite periods. However, the highlight has to be the section...More





The museum is being renovated. While the museum is worth a visit, it could help travellers by adding a map of the museum, the collections, the rationale used to organize it this way.
