This was recommended by the Walnut Shell Hotel. Thanks Cameron! It was a fair amount of money for 2 adults and 2 kids, but we have "seen" Istanbul 3x before. It is different with a guide. We got a lot more out of it. Thanks Onur. I enjoyed our political chat as well. As a history graduate, you made a... More

At the suggestion of our hotel, The Walnut Shell, my fiancé and I signed up for the Best of Istanbul Tour with True Blue Tours. Our guide was Ugur. He was awesome! His passion for showing Turkey's history was infectious. He was engaging and possessed an amazing depth of knowledge. From the architecture to the history to the folklore, Ugur... More

Our tour guide, Eyup, fixed our tour given the amount of days and nights we had allotted for Turkey. We had a great time. We did one day around Istanbul where we took the Bosphorus Cruise to have a bird's eyeview of Istanbul. We also went on the cable car to have Turkish coffee at Pierre Loti on the hill.... More

We chose True Blue because of the great reviews. Unfortunately I did not specify the tour person, and it seems that a lot of people had great reviews of Mr Akin. We were picked up at the scheduled time by a really nice van. It was only 2 of us, so we were initially very excited. Ms Songur (I hope... More

We (3 adults) did the 7 days tour and it was amazing. Our agent was Aykut and he arranged everything. All we had to do was show up. We even made last minute changes on our itinerary and it was sorted in an instant. When I say last minute, I mean like 1 hour before our flight last minute. It... More

We (4 adults) used True Blue for airport pickup/drop off and a for a private half day tour of the Hagia Sophia, Blue Mosque, and underground cistern. The airport/hotel pickups were on time, with a great driver, and at an extremely good price. Great tour of the major sights of the city. The tour guide was extremely knowledgeable and spoke... More

We did a full day tour of istanbul with our tour guide Akin who was literally an encyclopedia of all the information that one could look for at every historical site that we visited. the tour provided us with a 360 degree view of istanbul within limited time. They covered the major historical sights as well as took us through... More

We did the day trip to Gallipoli and it is a very long day but most certainly worth it. We had a guide who I can't remember his name but he told us so much about the war and a it was really balanced we learnt about the war from all sides, about the different sites we visited and it... More

Originally our cruise was meant to stop over in Istanbul and when that changed our 1 day tour was in jeopardy! True Blue Tours came to the rescue! No problem to them, we now had two half day tours, covering all that we wanted to see and do. We were collected from the airport, taken to lunch and introduced to... More

Staying in Sultanahmet

Neighborhood Profile
Sultanahmet
With so many unmissable attractions within a mere stroll of each other – and all set around the site of an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to retain an air of peace and calm. It offers visitors a significantly less celebrated but nonetheless pleasant network of quaint lanes and side streets, majestic panoramas of the Bosphorus, and an impressive assortment of accommodation options for all budgets and tastes.
