We had a great time enjoying this unique night! The dinner was fabulous and the whole experience was fun, but our highlight was getting to know Feyza. She was a joy to talk to, and we learned so much about life in Istanbul and Turkey. Feyza has an infectious positivity to her, and we connected on so many parts of life, from hobbies to politics. Our host for dinner was also lovely, and despite the language barrier, we really enjoyed getting to know her and getting a glimpse into her life. We did this experience on the last night of our trip, and it helped us experience Turkey and Istanbul on such a deeper and more personal level. Would highly recommend!

We had high expectations when we booked this ‘evening food tour in Istanbul’. As self confessed foodies and passionate home cooks as well we thought we would be tasting the best that Turkey had to offer. Unfortunately this wasn’t the case. In fact I would say I would not book another of these tours through urban adventures. We paid over $100 Aus per person for a piece of cheese, melon. a fig. Half a deep fried meat cake, a mussel, half a roll with offal on it ( which I couldn’t eat), coffee, a small square of baclava and a ‘wet burger’. Of all the beautiful meats, spices and tasty offerings in Turkey I think urban adventures are definitely working on a huge profit margin with these meagre offerings. Our guide was a really nice guy and it was a nice group of people but we have done a number of food tours all over the world and this was probably our most disappointing.

Although the tour guide was friendly and knowledgeable, the first destination had run out of the promised food and we were left with a very ordinary pastry. Some of the tour destinations were only ok, nothing very special. It seemed like the guide was stepping in for someone else, and that he didn't regularly lead this tour. For the amount that was paid for this tour I would not recommend.

This bazaar is a pricey place to rent for the shopkeepers and so these guys want to extract the maximum amount of money for goods. The products are mediocre and one should be selective in choosing your items. Sellers are very argumentative & love to pick an argument. I didn’t enjoy my visit there. The jewelry is overpriced & no guarantee of authenticity.

We had a fantastic guide - FEYZA - young energetic and passionate about her work. We toured Taksim square and the fenicular railway area to taste a variety of local foods. FEYZA explained flavours and cultural traditions associated with the food and it was heavenly- worth doing
