During our recent trip to Turkey Arif guided us during our stay in Istanbul. He had been highly recommended to us by friends in Australia and we agree he is indeed an excellent guide. We found Arif was flexible during our tour, incorporating any changes we wanted as we toured. He has an excellent knowledge of Istanbul and he communicated... More

We could not have asked for a more knowledgable private guide. His depth of knowledge and his ability to create the perfect 3 days in Istanbul and a day in Cappadocia were incredible. Yes we saw what every tourist should see in Turkey but we also saw things off the beaten path which was magical!!

I selected Arif Yasa because of their itinerary (balance of food destination in Uskudar/Kadikoy/Tahtakale & Spice bazaar, previous reviews and price), and we do have a wonderful food tour with Arif. We were introduced to local foods in the local markets, famous restaurant in Kadikoy (Ciya Sofrasi) and one of the best and famous baklavaci in the city. We also... More

Arif made this a fantastic and very special day. We were able to alter/amend the walk along the way, spending more time in the areas that interested us. His knowledge of the history and sites was incredible. We found the easy walking pace great, getting back to our hotel at the end of a full day of sites still feeling... More

Our guide, Erkan, was very knowledgeable in both history and local knowledge. Everything was neatly arranged by Arif and his team. Erkan was helpful and attentive throughout the trip. The best in Turkey and highly recommended for anyone planning a private tour :)

We were a group of 4 adults lead by Arif who took us around Turkey for a week in January 2014. He made our experience in Turkey unforgettable with his widespread knowledge of Turkey's history, landmarks, politics and culture. We truly loved every minute and took home many memories, cultural experience and newly learned knowledge. I would recommend Arif to... More

I actually met Arif way back in Oct/Nov 2009 on a 2 week adventure through Western Turkey. I was an amazing trip - with Arif more like another travel companion - but extremely informative along the way. What an amazing insight to Turkey from a local... by the end of the trip a few of us were already planning our... More

I was part of a small group of international food and travel writers that were invited to Istanbul in February 2016 by their respective Turkish Embassies. We were lucky enough that Arif Yasa was assigned to our group as our guide and he was with us for the entire 4 days of our trip. Arif Yasa's English is impeccable (he... More

Staying in Sisli

Neighborhood Profile
Sisli
For much of Istanbul’s history, Sisli and the area just north of Taksim Square were open countryside used mostly as hunting grounds. These days, Sisli and its chic streets are considered the very heart of contemporary Istanbuli life, where an epicenter of fashion and a thriving business district meet to create an expressly “downtown” feel. Though largely a residential neighborhood, luxury hotels, fine dining restaurants, and upscale shops abound with many of them situated inside or nearby Cevahir Istanbul, the biggest shopping mall in Europe and second biggest urban shopping mall in the world. Shopaholics and fashionistas travel from near and far to browse the area's mix of major global brand items and creations by popular Turkish designers.
