I had great communication from Erkan as we planned our customized tour of Istanbul for 4 adults. He responded promptly to all of my emails and made great suggestions to make our trip wonderful...and we weren't disappointed. Selcuk Eracun, our guide, met us at our hotel and gave us a fabulous full-day tour of Istanbul. He was so knowledgeable about each of the places we visited! And having a driver and van waiting to pick us up after our time at each location really helped us to maximize our time. We were supposed to check into our cruise ship that day, so we were even able to take our luggage with us on the van and were dropped off at the Karakoy Cuise Ship Terminal at the end of the day! The next day we had a half-day private tour of the Topkapi Palace and Harem which were absolutely packed with tourists! It was wonderful to not have to wait in line to get tickets and to have someone show us the important places while navigating us through the crowds. We loved our time in Istanbul and feel that we saw so much more than we would have been able to see on our own...and for a very reasonable price. We never felt rushed, and Selcuk's vast knowledge of his city made our time very special!

We had a party of 8 that toured the Topkapi Palace, Blue Mosque, Hagia Sophia Museum, Basilica Cistern, Grand Bazaar and the Spice Market for only 60 euro per person. Arif met us at our cruise ship entrance gate. We walked about .40 miles to the tram and rode it to the heart of the old city. Entrance fees were included for all attractions. Lunch was on our own.
Arif speaks excellent English and is extremely knowledgeable on Turkish history and its culture.
Many of the attractions are extremely busy. He analyzes the lines and determines the order of the attractions we will see. He minimized our waiting time to enable us to spend more time in the attraction. He constantly adjusted his pace to make sure our group stayed together. He did an outstanding job.
Our cruise ship offered this same tour (over 1.5 days) with lunch, for $159. You do get bused, with about 50 people, close to the old city before you have to walk. Walk about 1 mile more and save big $$, with a far better tour guide.

Arif organised all the details of our long weekend in Istanbul. Airport transfers worked perfectly. The hotel, Accra was very central but still quiet. The guides we had on the 2 days, Hal and Hussain, were both excellent. We enjoyed our time with them and learnt a great deal that we would not have discovered for ourselves. Well worth it to get the most out of a short visit.

We felt very fortunate to have Selcuk Eracun as our guide during our short stay in Istanbul. He showed us all the magnificent sites accompanied by his great and extraordinary knowledge of each place.
He was also very patient whenever he had to repeat himself due to our lack of attention, introduced us to authentic dishes in 2 different types of restaurants on both days.
Thank you Selcuk, you have made our stay in Istanbul very memorable. You will definitely be highly recommended to our friends.

A friend and I spent several days in Istanbul at the end of April. We had taken a tour of the major sites (which we enjoyed!) and also wandered around quite a bit on our own. But we were looking for another tour to round out our experience - something different, ideally at night where we could enjoy the sunset and explore different parts of the city. The Sunset Walking Tour was perfect. It gave us a chance to explore the Asian side of the city and enjoy a wonderful walk along the Bosphorus with amazing views back to the European side of the city. Our guide was Isik and he was excellent. His English was virtually flawless and he was very knowledgeable and easy going. I highly recommend this tour if you have some extra time in Istanbul and want to branch out beyond the Old Town.

I just got back from a 10 day trip throughout Turkey with my family. Arif accompanied us throughout the entire duration of the 10 day trip. I have done a significant amount of traveling throughout my lifetime, and I always prefer to see foreign countries without guidance. Arif is one of the exceptions to this rule.

Arif is unbelievably knowledgeable. I do not believe there was a single question that he did not have a detailed answer for whether it be a historical question, a question about spices, or a question about world news. While he took us to all the major tourist attractions (as everyone should see), he quickly realized that my family preferred more local, off the beaten path activities, and he adjusted accordingly while still touching the major attractions.

His best quality is his patience. He is extremely calm, and makes the every part of the trip hassle-free. He will accommodate in any way possible to ensure the most enjoyable trip possible.

We recently holidayed in Istanbul for 5 days at the end of a cruise. We wanted to get the most out of our time in Istanbul and decided to use a private tour guide. We chose Arif Yasa (mytouristanbul.com) based on Trip Advisor reviews, contacted Arif by email a couple of months ahead and made our plans. Those plans changed a number of times which Arif was very accommodating of.

We ended up booking 4 tours; Imperial Heritage, an Ephesus day tour, Crafts and Bazaars and Walking Istanbul in 2 continents. Just before arriving in Istanbul we decided to cancel the last tour to give us some leisure / shopping time. Again, this was no problem for Arif.

The tours were excellent. Arif included all the key sites and attractions you would want to see in Istanbul. The only places we did not see were those closed for renovation. He organized the walks to work around the tour bus crowds as much as possible, suggested a schedule to avoid closing days for places we wanted to se, gave us as much free time as we wanted and was extremely knowledgeable in Istanbul and Turkey’s history. Lunches were arranged at good local restaurants where we were the only tourists present.

The day tour of Ephesus included pick up / drop off at our hotel, flights and a local guide and driver in Ephesus. The guide Arif arranged in Ephesus, Ugur Yavuzturk, was also excellent.

Arif provided exactly what we were hoping for on the tours and we thoroughly enjoyed them. Highly recommend anyone considering a visit to Istanbul consider a private tour with Arif.

Thank you Arif for making our limited time in Istanbul so enjoyable!

My sister and I have always wanted to go to Turkey. We knew that there was a lot that we wanted to see in the 4 days we had in Instanbul. Arif made it possible to see many of our top destination choices in our 2 days with him. He really is an incredible tour guide! He possesses a vast amount of knowledge about Turkish history, culture, as well as a wide array of other topics. My sister and I like to ask random questions about things we come across, and I do not think that we stumped Arif once! Not only is Arif very knowledgeable and well spoken, he has a great sense of humor! We thoroughly enjoyed the time that we spent with him and want to emphasize his flexible and accommodating nature. Since we were spending a fair amount of time with Arif, it was a relief to us to find that we liked him so much. My sister and I were off of our schedules due to the time change. We asked Arif if we could start a little later, but then not stop for lunch. This was not a problem and in fact he gave us many choices throughout the two days, which we sincerely appreciated. Last but not least, Arif took us to some beautiful parts of Istanbul that were off the beaten track. We will be recommending Arif to any of our friends and family who visit Turkey! We hope you all like Turkey and Arif as much as we do!

On a short trip to Istanbul we had the good fortune of being able to book a day´s tour with Arif Yasa the first day we were there. He personalized our tour to what we wanted to see and was able to keep the interest of our teenagers as well as ourselves the complete time: from 9am to 5pm. His knowledge, intelligence and reflective manner not only gave us insight into the turkish culture but also the history of Istanbul. Thanks to his sharing his city with us as well as his recommendations, we spent the second day further exploring the area successfully on our own. It is doubtful that we would have seen and done everything that we did without having such a knowledgable and generous guide. We all look forward to visiting Istanbul again and hope to have the good fortune of another day with Arif!
