My daughter and I visited this shop in the Arasta Bazaar about 6 years ago and fell in love with the towels. We bought so many that we had to purchase another suitcase! I recently needed a wedding gift so I contacted Jennifer and she was able to ship them to me in the USA. I ordered them on a... More

I walked into Jennifer's Hamam simply because a fabric in the window caught my eye, and I walked out almost three hours later having finished my trip's gift list (including for myself many times over), and having a newfound appreciation for the ancient and modern history of Turkish textiles. Every towel, scarf and blanket I ended up buying (at shockingly... More

If you are looking for an authentic, high-quality Turkish towel, you really have to check out Jennifer's Hamam. We started our adventure in organic cotton peştemals, looped towels, kese and silk goods at the Arasta Bazaar site. We walked over to the new showroom -- WOW! If you are offered this experience, be sure to go! Jennifer's goods are high... More

As a disclaimer, I do receive any kind of kick back or compensation for this review. This is my go to towel place. As a foreigner its always nice to have your "go to's." A spice guy, a towel guy, a rug guy. I can happily say, and hopefully my guests and family and friends can say the same, that... More

This was my first time to Istanbul with my husband and after a full do of sightseeing we visited the Arasta Bazaar. I was excited to buy some pestemals/towels. The range in quality and price is overwhelming and at most of the shops you question every purchase before you reach for your wallet. Jennifer's Hammam, with its Canadian flag in... More

I have just returned to Melbourne Australia and arrived back at the very same time my parcel from Jennifer’s Hamam arrived. They warned me it may beat me home, and it almost did! This is a return trip for me to the wonderful shop in Arasta Bazaar. I recognized it immediately because the towels displayed here jump out with their... More

On our first day in Istanbul, after being hassled by rug vendors, we stopped at Jennifer's Hamam Arasta location. When a staff member led us to a larger, unmarked building several blocks away, I was anxious, hoping that we weren't being foolish tourists to follow him. However, once inside, we found a beautiful three-story showroom, and a warm welcome by... More

My sister and I have visited Jennifer's Hamam on our three trips to Istanbul. We actually go one or two times a day every day we are there. Why? We LOVE the fine hand made high quality products that are available at Jennifer's. Towels, scarves, bedspreads, robes. They offer a great variety of colors and weaves, you are sure to... More

Highly recommend a visit. High quality hand woven organically certified cotton and linen towels, robes, scarfs, blankets, etc. Fixed prices. Will custom make robes, etc. to order. Great stress free shopping with excellent helpful English speaking assistants that clearly provide the background, history, and care of each hand crafted item. Jennifer is singlehandedly saving the traditional loom weaving industry, and... More

Staying in Sultanahmet

Neighborhood Profile
Sultanahmet
With so many unmissable attractions within a mere stroll of each other – and all set around the site of an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to retain an air of peace and calm. It offers visitors a significantly less celebrated but nonetheless pleasant network of quaint lanes and side streets, majestic panoramas of the Bosphorus, and an impressive assortment of accommodation options for all budgets and tastes.
