The Juma Mosque isn’t especially big, but it’s lovely - and the characteristically duck egg blue domes are both architecturally beautiful and emblematic of Uzbekistan more generally. It’s free to enter, and it’s certainly worth a look inside - though it’s equally as nice to see it from the outside, and it’s visible walking throughout Chorsu Bazaar and so the two activities tie into one another well.

This interesting Mosque on a slight rise at the back of the Chorsu Market was built in 1451. Walk through the markets from the Metro Station and up the hill to visit.

Visited oldest Quoran written on deer skin by Osama in 15th century. Its a voluminous book kept very respectfully. They dont allow you to take pics.

Lovely serene place; limited
to males. Great sandalwood pillars.Minarets now automated and that's a good thing as they are 53 metres
tall. Pity the poor muezzin!

Also home to a collection of Korans, And what is claimed
to be the original, inscribed on deerskin in huge characters.

This is the closest thing in Tashkent that will remind you of Bukhara, Samarkand and Khiva. We went at night and it is lit up nicely, the whole ensemble is peaceful.
