We chose Sri Lanka Wide Tours as our tour guides for our recent trip to Sri Lanka. From our initial query to the last day of our holiday, Sri Lanka Wide Tours provided an excellent service.
Ms Mal initially helped us with our itinerary, always responding swiftly in a polite and helpful manner.
We spent 10 days in Sri Lanka with Mr Chathu as our guide visiting the Cultural Triangle, Nuwara Eliya and Ella and then on to Udawalawa. Mr Chathu was always pleasant and polite and added his wealth of information to the information provided by the local guides at each site. The car was clean every morning, air conditioned and comfortable and the driving very safe.
We requested that Sri Lanka Wide Tours book all our tickets in advance and this meant that our local guides, safari drivers etc were always waiting for us on our arrival and we never queued at any site. Mr Chathu amended our itinerary to ensure that we saw everything we wanted to see in Sri Lanka and where possible added in additional places of interest when we had time. He had a lot of local knowledge and was always happy to stop when we wanted a closer look at something.
We had a wonderful time in Sri Lanka and we highly recommend Sri Lanka Wide Tours and Mr Chathu for any visitors to Sri Lanka. We would love to go back ourselves and will be booking with Sri Lanka Wide Tours again.

In the beginning of planing to travel in Sri Lanka, I had decided to choose a tour agency to solve my transportation issue. I surfed the internet, and I selected three agencies to conact by email, which, of course, included Sri Lanka Wide Tour.
Ms. Seuwandi, the contact person of Sri Lanka Wide Tours, always provided me the fast response ,full information, and the best suggestions. That is the reason why I chose Sri Lanka Wide Tours to arrange and to revise my itinerary even though the cost was a little bit higher than that of the other two.
Mr. Heshan, my chauffeur in Sri Lanka for 7-day, was one of the best kind guys I have ever met as the tour guide and driver, even though he,22-year-old, is so young. His driving skill was so great and always drove me to the right place at the right time, and provided much information of local attractions. Of course, I did really enjoy the all the services Mr. Heshan provided.

I wanted to book my hotels myself but required a driver for three days to tour around the famous sites in the cultural triangle and the tea country. I emailed a few companies who sent me a quote for a full fortnight tour with hotels, whereas with this company they quoted for exactly what I had asked for. They were very prompt with their responses and gave me a very reasonable price.
I had found Sri Lanka Wide Tours via a review on trip advisor and they had raved about Dinesh so I asked for him. On the morning after our arrival we were picked up by Heshan at 6am. The car was modern, very clean with water provided daily. Heshan was exactly what we needed, polite, friendly, punctual, careful driver who put service as his top priority.
During our three days we went to Polonnaruwa, Sigiriya Rock, Dambulla Caves, Temple of Tooth Relic and a tour of Nuwara Eliya. The company arranged for specialist guides who really knew their site at each location which was just what we had hoped for.
Heshan chose highly rated restaurants to ensure the quality and hygiene of the food did not interrupt our packed schedule.
My husband and I can highly recommend both the company and Heshan. We had a fabulous time and loved every minute.

We are so grateful that we decided to take the services from Sri Lanka Wide Tours. We booked quite late, but Ms. Mal helped us with the whole journey, accommodation and activities for our entire 2 weeks vacation - we didn't even look into details too much (we also didn't know that many things about Sri Lanka), so we just went there. We had the best guide, Ishan, who also helped with great suggestions on activities and everything was great! He is very knowledgeable, professional and also fun to be around with (plus amazing driving skills in the chaotic traffic, we always felt very safe, which wouldn't have happened if we just rented a car on our own). Ishan helped us explore the true Sri Lanka with its amazing nature and fauna during safaris, whale watching, the history when visiting the ancient city, the serene Buddhist temples and also some Hindu ones, the culture - traditional dance shows, visiting traditional villages, also the tea factory, spice gardens and Ishan also knows the best places to have lunch or dinner. We felt like we were accompanied by a trustworthy friend, we thank Ishan and SLWT for a holiday to remember and for the wonderful surprise they had on my birthday!
We recommend to everyone going to Sri Lanka for the first time to take a guided tour from SLWT, you will discover things you wouldn't know on your own (it's beyond Google's knowledge, too).

I found Sri Lanka Wide tours online and was immediately impressed by the initial response to my enquiry. I booked our holiday with Mal. She was an absolute pleasure to work with. We booked quite late and had many changes as we went through the process of working out the itinerary. Mal was always thoroughly professional and helpful. We wanted the flexibility to book the hotels ourselves and that was accepted without any problem. I was impressed by her prompt responses to any queries by either email or Whatsapp and always felt that I was in very capable hands.
Chathu was our driver. He was always punctual and professional. The van was always spotless and stocked with plenty of water. Chathu is knowledgeable, warm, friendly and a patient guide. He was also very well liked and friendly with locals in many places we visited which made us also feel welcome wherever we went. Nothing was too much trouble. He recommended some wonderful restaurants and we enjoyed many delicious meals.
We started in Negombo and visited Adam’s Peak, Nuwara Elya, Ella and Mirissa.
We had some challenges along the way and Chathu managed everything well. We always felt he was flexible and reliable.
Unfortunately we had to cut our holiday short because of complications with the Corona Virus.
I would highly recommend Sri Lanka Wide tours, we loved our time in Sri Lanka with Chathu
Chathu was our driver. He was always punctual and professional. The van was always spotless and stocked with plenty of water. Chathu is knowledgeable, warm, friendly and a patient guide. He was also very well liked and friendly with locals in many places we visited which made us also feel welcome wherever we went. Nothing was too much trouble. He recommended some wonderful restaurants and we enjoyed many delicious meals.

I found this operator by chance as I was doing a general search. I was looking for a flexible travel operator that can accommodate my travel requests and places that I wanted to visit.
I only confirmed the trip with them like 3 weeks before we flew out and SL Wide Tours was very accommodating as well.
It has been very accommodating to ensure we got the hotels we wanted to book as we prefer quality over price, and also we do not want to move hotels every night due to the distance of one site to another. As such, I would say SL Wide Tours is very accommodating as that meant more driving time.
We were assigned Channa, a young 25 year old guide and driver. He is very polite and speaks good English. He is a very good guide especially on the multiple hikes we asked for. He can also be your photographer as he takes really good pictures.
Overall I find their service is worth the money as it is quoted based on the hotel stay as that costs the most.
Highly recommended.

My partner & I used Sri Lanka Wide Tours for our 11 day holiday to Sri Lanka in November 2021 and I can honestly say they provided the VERY best service to us.
We requested a quote before booking the holiday which was received extremely fast and answered and questions we had and from that moment Sri Lanka Wide Tours supported us to make sure we had everything in place for our trip (covid tests, visas etc)
We did an 11 day tour of Sri Lanka, stopping in various locations & Sri Lanka Wide Tours helped us plan and move from one stop to the other flawlessly. They took us to the best places to visit using their knowledge, provided amazing recommendations and let us relax.
Our driver - Ishan, genuinely made our holiday & we are so grateful for his knowledge, expertise and excellent driving throughout our time here, whilst making sure we were safe at all times.
I cannot recommend Sri Lanka Wide Tours enough, they are fast, reliable, experienced, safe, friendly, warm and made our experience one that we will never forget. They went above and beyond to make sure we had incredible memories and I will make sure all my friends and family use them when they visit.

A big thank you to Sri Lanka Wide Tours & team for all the wonderful arrangements to make our trip a pleasant & unforgettable one.
I must say, my hubby & I were really pleased with the service & hospitality from Mr Ishan throughout our 9 days tour. He was very helpful, initiative & a down to earth person. He is always with a smile, on time everyday without fail even when he felt alittle unwell, he still had a smile on his face.
He provided good suggestions, shared stories, experiences, explained the history & culture as we drove from 1 place to another keeping in mind the long distance of 2 to 3 hours drive continuously. He always made sure he was there for us, even after dropping us off at the hotel he would msg to check if everything was fine.
Mr Ishan reserved first row seats for us at Kandy cultural show. During Yala National Safari, it was well coordinated with the safari driver to ensure we sight the leopards and I was surprised as our safari driver brought us home cooked lunch specially prepared by his uncle. We enjoyed the delicious food along with freshly cut fruits for us on the spot. In Mirissa, we went whale watching & Mr Ishan informed us that we should get there earlier so we would able to secure good seats with unblocked great view and we did exactly the same. We were so luckily to spot a few whales just within about 40 mins out at sea. I loved the beach in Mirissa, was just awesome to unwind & watch the sunset. In Bentota, I planned to snorkel and go for a traditional oil massage but was not sure which is a good sea sports center and massage parlour. Also, was doubtful if it will be operating as it was Chrismas day. Hence, I msged Mr Ishan for suggestions & he immediately got back to me with a place in mind and came to meet us in less than 10 mins at our lobby. It was my first snorkeling experience and it was just awesome.
We would love to visit northern Sri Lanka some day & will be more than delighted to use Sri Lanka Wide Tours, of course with the company of our new friend Mr Ishan for sure.
Thank you very much once again, do keep up the good service.

We cannot say enough about how impressed we were with SL Wide Tours during a recent family trip to Sri Lanka (4 adults and 2 teenagers). We were lucky enough to have Ishan as our tour guide and Tissa as our driver, and their service was superb throughout the 2.5 week trip. The trip was a mix of tourism, seeing family and friends, and showing the grandchildren where their grandparents and mother come from. Ishan and Tissa worked tirelessly as a team to make sure that all of us had a good time and that we accomplished the many goals of the trip. They were completely flexible with the itinerary and schedule each day and just went with the flow, modifying the travel plans at a moment’s notice as needed and constantly checking in to see how we were doing. Ishan accompanied us on our many excursions and always helped us as needed without hesitation, including a trip to a hospital in Jaffna after one member of our group had a fall. His contact network, experience and local knowledge was very helpful throughout, from navigating crowded tourist sites to negotiating at markets to finding things we needed or places we wanted to visit. Tissa is an excellent driver and we felt very safe in his capable hands despite many challenging driving situations along the way. Ishan and Tissa were also very personable and caring to the whole family, and we all enjoyed very much getting to know them. They were an integral part of our trip, and we will certainly miss them and hope to see them again during our next trip to Sri Lanka.
Another aspect of SL Wide Tours that we really appreciated was the customer service. The office was very responsive in setting up and planning the trip, usually responding with an hour regardless of the time of day. The company also set up at no extra cost private tour guides at each UNESCO site that we visited (Sigiriya, Dambulla temple, Anuradhapura), which really helped us learn about them. The trip was also an excellent value considering how good the service was and how much they did to make the trip as smooth as possible. We considered several competitors and SL Wide Tours easily beat the competition on service, price, value and most importantly quality.
We highly recommend SL Wide Tours based on our experience.
Another aspect of SL Wide Tours that we really appreciated was the customer service. The office was very responsive in setting up and planning the trip, usually responding with an hour regardless of the time of day. The company also set up at no extra cost private tour guides at each UNESCO site that we visited (Sigiriya, Dambulla temple, Anuradhapura), which really helped us learn about them. The trip was also an excellent value considering how good the service was and how much they did to make the trip as smooth as possible. We considered several competitors and SL Wide Tours easily beat the competition on service, price, value and most importantly quality.
We highly recommend SL Wide Tours based on our experience.

Our family of six had a wonderful time on our 10 day trip to Sri Lanka. We came across Sri Lanka Wide Tours through a Web search and saw their ratings/reviews. And I’m glad that we selected them for arranging our trip. Starting from the planning of the trip through chats and calls with Mr Darshana, who was extremely helpful and arranged the trip as per our requirements. From selecting the locations to organising the hotels and logistics, everything was perfect. We did not have a single glitch in our itinerary and all went smoothly. He was extremely mindful of our requirements and making sure that we got the best deal.
We spent two nights in Colombo and then travelled across the country to vet a week and ended our trip at bentota. The tour guides at all the specific locations we visited were all pre-arranged and we had to waste no time to wait for anything.
The driver and guide assigned to us was Mr. Channaka - a very friendly, and responsible person. Throughout our trip, he was very courteous and very responsive to our needs. He had great knowledge of all the places we visited and took us to all the popular sites on our trip. He has very good knowledge of all the locations we visited, had great recommendations for restaurants in all the locations. The one thing I admired about Mr. Channaka was that he could anticipate our requirements while travelling. From making sure that we had all the requisites when we got on to our journey to also checking with us that we had all our luggage in place. We have two young kids - 4yrs and 8yrs, and he was very friendly with them and helped us in looking after them through our long walks and steep climbs :)
We had a great time in Sri Lanka and really enjoyed the travel through the beautiful country, thanks to the great tour plan by Sri Lanka Wide Tours and Mr. Channaka’s hospitality and knowledge of the country. We wish we had more time. It’s a lovely country with very hospitable people.

Sri Lanka wide tours were amazing and very flexible in putting together an itinerary bespoke to individual guests. We went over the Easter holidays; Chathu was our driver - an exceptional young man who really looked after us.

Hi! For the age group you've stated, I would definitely recommend visiting the elephant orphanage, jungle safari, temple tour, Sigiriya Rock, the southern coast for beach time/surfing and Colombo. On my last trip, I heard that they opened a "mini" Adam's peak. I think you'll be able to take your youngest on this but definitely check with others first. The original Adam's Peak would be too much for a 7 year old, but maybe not for an active 12 year old. Hope this is helpful!

We are looking forward to our trip in August and are just looking for advice on tipping our driver/guide and the extra guides we will have. New Zealand is a non-tipping country so we need all the advice we can get. I have looked on the forums but haven’t found any up to date info :)

Same as others. I can't imagine a really bad trip with SWT. Even if we had had any issues with our driver we had been given numbers for 2 people in the office who would have immediately resolved any issues we had. Are you talking about the same company? What problems did you have? Or, are you just trying to get a rebate because you are a cheeky cheapskate?

Hi Sri Lanka Wide Tour Staff! My son will be landing down at the HRI airport on his world record flight early in August. I will need transport from Colombo Airport down to HRI and return a couple of days later. I cannot give an exact date yet as he may be affected by weather.
