While in the Old Fort Area, my Tuktuk Driver pointed out this building to me. He said that this was where the members of the parliament meet or the equivalent of Congress in Washington, DC. Noted some statues of prominent perons in front of this building. Was told not open to tourists.

Walk along Galle face green from GALLE FACE hotel along the walkway by the beach.....enjoy local people and vendors......take a photo of the old parliament.......lot of history and political skullduggery here! Walk past it UPTO the light house. Take a break. Go into the city......see the only lighthouse in the world that is in the middle of the city.....old post office...presidents house....old British era department stores.

I don't even know why this is on here as an attraction. It is a largely unused building... a small one at that that isn't even that old. There is nothing to see there too.
I can however, admire the architecture and appreciate its potential to be something better.... but I can do this from my hotel room that looks directly down onto it.

Walking on my own in Colombo, I saw the Old Parliament Building.
It is a huge building with a numerous statues showing the history of Sri Lanka's politics.
I appreciated the old architecture. Very nice.

This is a lovely building that was situated next to our hotel. But you could not go inside the gates and are not permitted to take photos. Luckily I took some nice pictures from our hotel window.

The Parliament is moved to another Place. In front of Old Building there will be built very modern new part of Colombo. The project new Dubai in Sri Lanka, will be built by CCCC from China and financed, by the capital from China, Japan and Gulf Emirates.

Impressive old colonial parliament building. Great architecture in classic, traditional sense. It was not open to visitors, however you can take in the great views from the fence line.
