We provide training and economic empowerment for the visually impaired through the provision of top quality shiatsu massage therapy in Colombo, Sri Lanka Why Thusare Talking Hands Treatment: The therapy helps many chronic and acute problems such as headache, back pain and fatigue, or may be taken for relaxation and stress relief. Ethical Massage: Shiatsu acupressure massages are provided through a cotton cloth. No oils are used and there is no need to undress. Quality: Our blind therapists have high sensitivity to touch and are expertly trained by a Japanese Master. Social Purpose: Our work provides opportunity, self-respect and dignity for previously unemployed visually impaired Sri Lankans. All profits are reinvested in furthering this goal.

Amazing massage, Safe Environment, Skilled Staff

I had a 90 minute Shiatsu massage with massage therapist Rajita, and it was one of the best massages of my life. He is extremely skilled. I felt safe and cared for, and it was incredibly healing. As a solo female traveller, I am not quick to book massages with male therapists, but I am so glad that I took a leap of faith and trusted my intuition. This is a very good place.

I am also very happy about the way this organization serves and employs blind members of the community. Please go get a massage here- it will bless you and others to do so!

Not for the feint hearted but great

These guys are great and feel their way around you body as they are blind. More akin to a sports massage and can be painful - but for me this is a sign they are getting into my muscles and tightness. Not a gentle relaxing boutique style massage but great

This is the third time I am visiting this place. I make it a point to come here every year when I visit Lanka. All the employees do a great massage and this time I had Raghu who was excellent to say the least. He knew exactly where to massage and which knots to break. Well done

A different take on massage

This was the most different massage I’ve ever had. The therapists seem to be mostly/all blind men the the massage is a lot about pressure points. Four of us visited and all enjoyed our treatments. It was good value for money too. Just don’t expect the usual scented oil, Swedish massage type spa.

very good massage.very good crews. i got 2 hours full body massage with my two friends. i like that. but the air conditioning very poor. good for every thing. but i like that they use the oil massage. they didn't use oil for massage. the air conditioning was weak. the place is nice but not perfect for the massage place.

A great Shiatsu massage!

I just finished my 90 minute full body shiatsu massage session with Sanjiva and it was great. It’s a fairly strait-forward shiatsu massage with all the stretching, bending, deep tissue work that shiatsu entails. If you want an oily massage that puts you to sleep, hit the spa in a hotel. If you want a therapeutic deep tissue massage this place is awesome!

The location isn’t the easiest to find, but google maps has it exactly where it is. Close to hotels, I took a taxi there and Tuk Tuk back.

I emailed them and they got back to me within the hour.

One hour full body massage

My husband and I had a massage today. Professional, friendly and the actual massage was excellent. We are going back on Sunday. Excellent sports/relaxation massage.

Nice place for blind massage

I just went there after seeing reviews in Trip Advisor. My experience was so so. I booked a head neck and shoulder massage for 30 minutes but the masseur gave only a head massage. I guess he is a rookie. The head massage was not even up to the standard of a head massage in a barber shop. I felt pity for the young masseur because he has not been taught the skills of massage properly and about his own self. Blind people tend to be less in personal hygiene duty their disability. His body odour was too strong for me to bear. Management should teach them about their personal hygiene. .

The general ambience of this place isn’t one you would generally associate with a relaxing spa and more with the types you come across in Bali or Thailand on most street corners. The expectation in those cases is to get a quick and cheap massage which is sort of what you get here too.

I visited this place twice, first time received a one hour full body massage for Rs3,500, second a 30 min foot massage at $2,500.

I thought the full body massage was more value for money and felt better following the treatment. Word of caution that it is a firm massage without any oils and they press on certain nerve / pressure points which will hurt.

The foot massage was pretty useless and I believe the therapist was either tired or didn’t know how to do it properly. The therapist concentrated more on my calves than the actual feet which is where I wanted the work done. I got a better massage from the automatic foot massagers in Singapore airport to be honest.

Overall I think this establishment is a great endeavour and definitely worth checking out. The rating is reflective of my overall experience across the 2 visits.

An amazing experience

My husband and I found this place on TripAdvisor and had the best reviews. The message itself was very different to any other place I've tried. The masseuse who is blind, he knew exactly which stress points he had to target. A must go if you are in Colombo.
