Today we meet a really nice guy with its Tuk Tuk. His name is Sylve. For almost 4 hours and 5000 LKR (13 €/ 2 people = 6,5 €/person)) we have visited a lot of the famous places of Colombo city.
This guy is serious, honest and know very well his city... avoiding Traffic jame and bring us at the end , seeing the sunseat to a nice roof top. You can join him at (0094) 771627514 or (0094) 775916664 ( his wife). He deserves it !

As a cynical person, I would normally steer clear of city tours like this, and have avoided double decker red buses in every city I’ve visited. But, this tour was awesome. Fortunately I put my cynicism aside and from the moment our guide Donald Duck (I have my doubts about whether this is on his birth certificate) greeted us with a smile and a lei we knew we were into a good thing. We started by smashing a king coconut and then we were off! We saw all the major Colombo landmarks (there are not that many), sampled spicy street food and even managed to visit some shops without feeling under any pressure to handover any rupees. It was a great first day activity and helped us orientate ourselves with the city and have some great banter along the way. Like a good fondue this cheese was fun and satisfying.

We hada wonderful day with a very friendly tour guide. It was a bit hard to get to some places as it was independence day and some roads were closed. But the driver took us to other places and beyond the call of duty to satisfy us.

If you are looking for anything to do in Colombo, look no further! Everything you could ever need or want to eat, see or do in Colombo is in this tour! I was coming in on a cruise, so they worked with me to book a special tour (normally they do afternoon/evenings, but I needed a day tour). I did a food and city tour which I can’t say enough good things. Our driver and guide, Randy, picked us up at the cruise port. We were greeted with Gardenia leis and fresh coconuts to drink from. We were then whisked off to our first stop, one of the gorgeous Hindu temples. The tour was an efficient route and perfect combination or food, cultural/historic stops. It was really hot that day (as I’m sure it is every day) so there was also a great effort to include air conditioned stops for those of us not used to the heat. The tuk tuk can be made into a convertible and I was allowed to play my playlist on the route. This combination made us quite the scene as we drove around. The price may seem steep to you at first by looking at it, but trust me it is WELL WORTH IT. They take care of everything and will work with you to customize the tour. I saw many other travelers haggling with taxis and tuk tuk drivers as well as stress about what to do about food. With this tour all you have to do is show up!

All food, drinks (beer, water, sodas), and transportation is included!

If you like riding around Colombo drinking and listening to loud music - then by all means. I wanted a more personal intimate view of Colombo and Tuk Tuk Safari did not deliver. We drove around Colombo for hours, when in fact, it could have been done in 1 hour. The only amazing site was the temple. The next stop was a restaurant, delicious. But apart from that... nothing. Instead, I recommend you get a good book on Colombo and either walk, or design your own map. For example, The Mangi fruit market is walking distance from the Hilton Hotel. The guy drove us for an hour to make it look like Mangi was far! Scam.

In Columbo? You have to experience the Tuk Tuk Safari! This was the most enjoyable, varied, exciting, fun, informative and delicious tourist experience I've ever had: I seriously considered doing it again the following day!
Whoever came up with this idea is a genius - it's a really clever and fun way to see the city. Especially as Colombo is a relatively small capital city, it's totally doable in four-six hours via Tuk Tuk with a great guide!
The Tuk tuks are really cool, decked out like Safari vans with excellent touches such as a cool box, stereo and speakers, drink holders and a bowl for peanuts as well as a bin to keep the space clean.
The sights we saw on the gala Safari includes two temples (Hindu and Buddhist), the Independence memorial, the Dutch hospital complex, numerous sights along the way and several food stops! We also rode through lots of different neighbourhoods giving a really great overview of the cultures in Colombo. The food and drinks we sampled were delicious.
The best thing about this experience though was the team of drivers/guides. There were all so friendly and interested in the guests and in ensuring they had a great experience.
Our driver, Kusal (the wizard) was an absolute delight to do the tour with. He presented us with drinking coconuts and flower garlands at the beginning of the tour and made us feel very welcome and relaxed. Throughout the whole tour our comfort and enjoyment were his priority and he couldn't have been any more accommodating. I'm a vegetarian and Kusal made sure my dietary requirements were met at all times. He was very knowledgable about the city and Sri Lanka and answered all my questions really fully and we learned a lot from him. Colombo roads are pretty different to back home and westerners may experience some culture shock in a couple of the locations you drive through - Kusal's driving and presence made us feel safe at all times.
I just loved this: I'd give it ten stars if I could. We're two months into a five month trip in Asia and I doubt anything will top this experience. Don't miss it!

If you´re around Colombo and not sure if there is something interesting to see in Colombo, Tuk Tuk Safari Colombo is THE address for you! Our guides really could explain a plenty at every location (a special thank to "Pink Panther" and "Bob Marley" for a great evening). The tour is completely worth the money. It´s a permanent change between sightseeing and stoping at a location where you get something to drink (we had the "All inclusive Gala Safari"). We´ve tried to explore Colombo on our own by foot before, but that wasn´t very succesfull. These guys drive you safely through Colombo, all you have to do is taking thousands of fotos and enjoy your beers =) What also is worth to mention is the fact that you get a pickup in your hotel. You even don´t have to care how you get to the tour

We did this on our first evening and it was great. We were picked up from our hotel in a very stylish tuk tuk and smart looking guide (Randy). I was given a lovely flower garland and we werr both given a king coconut drink and snack. We visited 6 drink / eatery stops...all in very local places to get a priper local dining experiece (street food). They catered well for dietary requirements.

It was a great way to see the city...including bits i doubt you would normally venture down. Worth every penny and highly recommended. Good service from start (email booking) to finishing the tour. Great idea guys and excellently executed.

Everyone on here has written about what a party on wheels Tuk Tuk Safari is. It's all true. This review is to share that if you're looking for a more reflective, soulful kind of wheel-around-town, they can do that too. I was travelling alone and feeling a little anxious about my first time in Colombo, and my guides picked up on that. Pradeep (Pink Panther) ditched his tuktuk and asked if he could accompany me. So while Captain Pumba drove, Pradeep sat with me and answered all my questions. My questions were about history, literature, the war, and Pradeep dug deep into his personal life to give me insights into Sri Lanka that I wouldn't otherwise have gotten, and that I certainly would not have expected from a food safari. Captain Pumba jumped in now and then with his own tales. It was very generous of them, and I came away with a deep appreciation not so much for the safari as for the really good people who run it. It fills me with heart to see how proud they are of what they do. It was a privilege to see the city through their eyes. It did not hurt that ice cold beers kept appearing out of the blue.

I was looking for some tours around Colombo as I only planned a weekend here.
So I found TukTuk Safari, it was a great experience. The guys were lovely and very funny, their English was very good.
I had seen some places so they adjusted the tour for me. I did a combination of city and food tour. You can ask wherever you want to go.
We have been to local places and the food was really good. In the end it was too much food, so I had to pack some of it .
I highly recommend them, service and fun is guaranteed.
They play the music you want and the beer in the cooler is just refreshing.

Thank you soooooo much for the great time.
