My daughter and I spent our favorite summer adventure ever this past July/August in Mongolia. We have travelled all over the world - central and South America, Cambodia, Thailand, China, Africa, Europe, etc. The "tour" that Doljmaa helped us create surpassed every expectation. We rarely use tour companies as we prefer to travel on our own steam, but Mongolia kind of demands local guides and safe, tough vehicles to truly explore it. Our guide, Buggy, and driver, Toya became like family and were utterly competent and professional, but also lovely, open, intelligent human beings. Our month in Mongolia was truly surreal! We rode horses to visit the Tsaatan reindeer herders where we got to experience the life of the herding families and even herd in the reindeer in the evening bareback on our incredible Mongolian horses (dream come true!), attended the opening ceremony of the Nadaam Festival and got to see several countryside Nadaams as well, we rode camels, hiked the massive sand dunes and explored the stunning Gobi, rode more horses in the Orhkon Valley, soaked in the hot springs, swam, played and did yoga around Khosvgul Lake, and the list goes on and on. Staying in the gers with nomadic families, helping the children herd in the sheep as the sun sets over the steppe, sharing tea and meals, galloping across the steppe.... so many memories of a truly authentic experience were made possible by the connections Sunpath has with local families and the respect they have for traditional life and culture. I was amazed by the experiences we were able to have and am SO GRATEFUL that we used Sunpath - flexible, professional, knowledgeable, authentic and a great value. We couldn't have been happier and will definitely use Sunpath again when we return to Mongolia, which is already tugging at our hearts.

Our experience with Sunpath Mongolia from the initial email exchanges with Doljmaa to the end of the tour had been nothing short of amazing. We stayed at the Sunpath Mongolia hostel which was clean and well kept before being picked up by our driver Khurlee and our guide Shirmen. The tour brought us to many amazing destinations around central Mongolia. On the first night, we managed to see the Milky Way, a sight that will forever be etched in my memories. Food was well prepared by our guide Shirmen, who somehow managed to come up with so many different types of dishes with whatever ingredients he managed to procure. Our driver Khurlee had superb driving and navigation skills which made us feel so safe on the roads.

I highly recommend everyone to pick Sunpath Mongolia as your choice.

I just got back from the pituresque Gobi tour (5N/6D) with Sunpath and I cannot recommend them enough.

The itinerary is well-balanced with a new highlight (sand dunes, flaming cliffs, white stupa) every day. Sunrises, sunsets and starry skies including the milky way made it even better.

The company prefers to give you a comfortable experience (as far as Mongolian travel is 'comfortable'): we were a group of only 4 but drove with 2 cars rather than the less comfortable vans often used for groups that size. They are also very responsive with clear information, both over the phone call and email, which was actually the reason I went with them (I contacted 4 other companies by phone for a Gobi tour).

The nomadic family ger camps were all in great locations and we had lovely hosts. Both our driver (Batjaa) and our guide (Andy) went above and beyond to give us the best trip possible. Batjaa is an excellent driver, very funny and a good wrestler. Andy was happy to anwer any of our questions, cooked us great food (thanks for the fried rice breakfast ;)) and takes great photos.

Also a shoutout to the other driver Baagii, who helped some of us climb the steep sand dune, and Anno, the guide who joined us for the last day only.

Overall I had a great time and wouldn't hesitate to book more tours with Sunpath on any future trips to Mongolia.

This was our first visit to Mongolia. We weren’t sure about handling logistics on our own so decided to book a 3 week tour covering major highlights in the South/Gobi, Central, and Northern Region. The tour manager Doljma got back to us promptly and was very communicative about our immediate inquiries. The experiences on the trip itself were wonderful — the host families we stayed with were very hospitable and friendly, and the sights were in visually spectacular. We wouldn’t have been able to safely travel to all of the challenging and rugged off-road locations without the competency of our talented driver who knew the roads in-and-out and handled them like a pro. Our tour guide was very friendly and personable. Altogether it felt like a very authentic experience of the countryside. On our tour (“Highlights of Mongolia”), it was fascinating to see the different biospheres of the country (all 3 were very different).

That said, covering so much ground meant lots of driving time (some days just that) so we would probably opt for a shorter tour or a combination of driving/flights next time. Also the initial briefing and daily briefly could be improved — especially info on how often and where showers will be available, specific guidelines to dress appropriately for weather, what to expect for meals/food. Our itinerary was reversed due to weather conditions (which was fine), but some of the descriptions were a bit unclear (e.g. “hiking to X location” was really just a short walk). It would also have been great to get a bit more in depth/detail in terms of historical info on the areas we visited. Our guide and driver will often times be fed by host families while they cooked for us using items bought from grocery store — food is cooked on a camper stove with basic cooking supplies and quality of food will likely vary depending on your guide.

Overall, it was an unforgettable experience that we very much enjoyed!

Mongolia has always been on my “To Go To List” and was finally able to check it off.

We arranged 2 all inclusive cost trip; a 6D5N trip + 2D1N trip and our hotel to airport transport through Sunpath Mongolia Tour. The manager, Doljmaa is extremely responsive to emails, she is contactable, very attentive and helpful with all our needs to ensure that we have a smooth and enjoyable trip. As she promised, she arranged a very good driver Baagi to take care of us; who indeed was excellent. Though Baagi’s English is limited, but thanks to Google translate, communication is no barrier at all. With no GPS, Baagi was still able to navigate his way off roads and take us to our destination 👍

6D5N itinerary (15-21 June 2023)
D1 Khugnu Tarna Nature Reserve
D2 Khugnu Tarna Nature Reserve (Camel riding and sand dunes) & Kharakhorum (monastery)
D3 Long drive via Bulgan; Murun
D4 Khuvsgul Lake (can see reindeers)
D5 Khuvsgul Lake (horse riding around the lake and boat trip on the lake) – the lake is extremely beautiful. Very cold nights
D6 Ikh Uul Soum (ancient site with Deer stones) + Uran Togoo Volcano crater hike (very easy hike with spectacular views of grasslands); Night train from Erdenet to Ulaanbaatar

2D1N itinerary (22-23 June 2023)
D1 Terelj National Park – turtle rock, monastery, horse riding, eagle holding, bow and arrow; Mongolia meal for dinner
D2 Chinggis Khan statue complex, tour around Ulaanbaatar city
Accommodation was at a luxury camp where ger had toilet and shower inside – spacious, nice and clean.

If you are still considering Mongolia, recommend you to go for an experience different from developed countries. Cashmere shopping is reasonable price with great quality. Communication with Google translation works. Feels safe to walk around even at The Black Market (Naran Tuul). I have yet to see the Milky Way nor a spectacular sunrise / sunset so may be back one day 😊 but the blue sky and white clouds made the views stunning.

My family traveled to Mongolia last July in order watch the Naadam festival. We had guided State Naadam festival tour in Ulaanbaator. The opening ceremony was amazing but it took quite a long time reach to the horse racing place called Khui Dolon Khudag. Then we took a tour to the Tsaatan people to the northern Mongolia. We took a domestic flight from Ulaanbaator to Murun where we met our amazing guide Daagii and driver Batjaa. They were both great experienced and professional. Before we start the trip, Doljmaa ( the owner of Sunpath) told us we could see one more Naadam festival in the countryside. It gave us a great opportunity to feel the difference between Naadam festival in the countryside and city. In the countryside, you see more authentic and outdoor things. After the festival we headed the Reindeer herders and had horseback riding for 3 days. It was one the best experiences that I ever had in my life. Our children are so grateful too. The tour was total 8 days. I would highly recommend Sunpath Mongolia for everyone.

I highly recommend Sunpath Mongolia if you are looking to do an adventure across Mongolia (they have several different tours). I was a solo traveler and did the Gobi group tour guided by Anarbayar and it was absolutely incredible! The prices were super reasonable compared to other tour operators and Doljmaa went out of her way to solve problems for us and make sure we had a great experience. Everyone at Sunpath is super friendly and I learned a lot about Mongolian culture and the nomadic lifestyle while staying with local families. Anarbayar also organized amazing activities - we made traditional khuurshuur fried dumplings by hand and had a traditional Mongolian BBQ!

As for COVID testing, I came from Istanbul and a test was not required to enter Mongolia. I am headed to Seoul next and I had to get a rapid test within a day of my departure. This was easy as Doljmaa helped me book a test at Intermed in Ulaanbaatar and we were able to tack it onto the end of the tour.

All in all, I am so happy I chose Sunpath - I’ve made memories for a lifetime and am really pleased with the experience and staff!

This is my second time going with Sunpath and was just as good or better than my first time. This trip was the 12 day Central and Northern Tour and I can't say enough good things.

Driver (Tuwshin): The vehicle was one of the UAZ's. While not the most comfortable, it is built like a tank and can take what the roads in Mongolia give you. I had no worries about not being able to go through certain sections of water or not being able to climb certain hills. Tuwshin was a great driver and kept us safe. He also regularly looked over the vehicle to make sure everything was still operating fine before big days. It was fun to hang out with him and the guide playing cards in the evening.

Guide (Khulan): The guide was phenomenal as well. She did such a great job during the trip answering any questions I had and when we visited areas of historical importance such as monasteries she did a good job of describing certain things or even translating from the monks when they spoke about certain things. The food that she was made was always always filling and delicious. I think if you get her for a guide, you don't need to worry about feeling hungry ever. She also made sure to include a lot of fruits and vegetables with various meals which I really appreciated.

Company (Sunpath): I really enjoy going with Sunpath and have now gone with them twice. When it didn't work out for me to join a larger group for this trip and looked like I was going to do the whole thing solo, the owner did her best to try to find someone last minute and was able to find someone to join for me for 5 of the 12 days and adjusted the price for me accordingly. I really appreciate to the effort they make at choosing nice ger camps and other places where you stay. They all had great owners and good locations often away from the largest crowds and groups of tourists. I also like how the drivers and guides within the company truly enjoy working for the company and enjoy each other too. Often we would meet up with other groups along the way from other sunpath tours and the drivers and guides got along with each other so well. I could see they were a family.

So all this to say, I've truly enjoyed my two times touring Mongolia with Sunpath and wouldn't hesitate to join them again. In fact, I think I'll do another trip with them next summer :)

It was our first time in Mongolia and booking a specific professional tour. Following a lot of research we decided on Sunpath as the head of operations Doljmaa, was very responsive and helpful to our every question and furthermore adapted our desired locations to the 11 day, 10 nights Gobi and Northern Mongolia (Khuvsghul lake) tour.
Throughout the tour we enjoyed our excellent guide Pujee and our excellent driver Buggy who were an unexpected amazing component of the experience. They are both very experienced and professional in their roles and gave us access to some many insights of Mongolian life, culture and nature that we would otherwise not have.
Pujee will go out of her way to make you feel comfortable and Buggy will impress you with his driving skills and great humour. We really couldn't have asked for better guides, they were a joy to have with us.
All the days are well tailored so you see something different every day while managing to cover the impossible distances in Mongolia (at least those in our itinerary). Pujee and Buggy were as flexible and relaxed as was needed and we all managed to enjoy all the locations despite weather changes.
The fact that we got to see Terelj park which wasn't in the itinerary was a generous bonus.

We chose the tourist ger option because we needed rest during this vacation time as well and weren't disappointed at all as all ger camps we were authentic, comfortable and warm.

Overall I was very impressed with Sunpath and would definitely choose them again for my tours!
