Went on a 15 days Best of Mongolia (Nomadic) Tour in mid-July 2019 with a friend of mine and joined Sunpath Tour after a recommendation from a friend. Got to say it is till date, the most memorable and epic trip! So a Nomadic Tour is relatively cheaper than the Tourist Tour - and therefore, less access to facilities like showers. There were days where we went without showering for 2 - 3 days and days where we would go to the public showers or pay to use the showering facilities on the campsite. Even in summer, the weather there is not as humid or crazily hot so we don't usually sweat that much anyways. Most toilets are just a wooden hut, squat toilet with/out doors, but we got used to it. The quality of the accommodation (Mongolia tents) also vary each day. Every day when we stop by a town for lunch - is the only time where there is free wifi, convenience stalls and sometimes a sport centre where we played volleyball with the locals! The most amazing thing I liked about the tour by Sunpath is the flexibility and the synergy of the group. We met amazing people from all around the world to visit Mongolia and our English speaking guides were able to bring everyone together - we played poker, ankle bone game, drinking and singing, competing/wrestling, spending hours under the stars taking pictures of the starry night with the right camera settings and took turns to have a front seat in the soviet van. Fortunately for us, our Soviet van was well maintained and did not break down - though we did stop to help fix another van that had bit of issues. In terms of activities - goat watching, horse riding, camel riding, hiking up cliffs/sand dunes/mountains/volcanoes/valley, archery and visiting the monastery - lots of physical activities and adventures! The scenery is simply out of the world - untouched, raw and surreal. We were also lucky enough to chance upon the State Nadaam Festival - I witness the most exotic of all culture - Ritual for the start of the festival; Mongolia wrestling - gosh they are hugeeee men; Archery and Horse-racing just outside of the city where traffic was paused momentarily and then we realised it was because the race was going on! It was majestic watching the racers of all ages riding through the grasslands! Simply WOW! Credits to our tour guides Badamtsetseg and Anarbayar for being the most amazing and all around guides - they cooked our meals for us (fried rice, spaghetti, bibimbap, noodles, Mongolian BBQ), ensured our safety during the hikes - leaving no one behind, keeping us entertained with songs and games during our 6-8 hours car ride each day, making sure we have firewood at night to keep warm and Badamtsetseg even went out the way to make sure we get the right medical attention and accommodation when my friend fell ill on the trip; and made herself cycle along when she couldn't really cycle. And Anar getting firewood for us when it was raining in the middle of the night just so we don't freeze our ass off. It was really commendable how both guides took us through the 2 weeks long journey! My only trivial regret really is... not getting my hands on the Mongolia poker cards and fridge magnet! I would definitely recommend this trip to anyone in for an adventure out of your comfort zone!

Our experience with Sunpath Mongolia from the initial email exchanges with Doljmaa to the end of the tour had been nothing short of amazing. We stayed at the Sunpath Mongolia hostel which was clean and well kept before being picked up by our driver Khurlee and our guide Shirmen. The tour brought us to many amazing destinations around central Mongolia. On the first night, we managed to see the Milky Way, a sight that will forever be etched in my memories. Food was well prepared by our guide Shirmen, who somehow managed to come up with so many different types of dishes with whatever ingredients he managed to procure. Our driver Khurlee had superb driving and navigation skills which made us feel so safe on the roads. I highly recommend everyone to pick Sunpath Mongolia as your choice.

My wife and I decided to take a week-long trip to Mongolia in October. It's a place that's always fascinated me and I was drawn to the idea of getting lost in the Gobi desert and getting away from it all. We decided to book through Sunpath Mongolia Tours and I talked to Doljmaa through email to see what our options were. She was very helpful and quick to answer questions. She suggested the Golden Gobi Tour which would fit into our schedule in Mongolia. We flew into Ulaanbaatar and were picked up in the morning at our hotel by the driver and our tour guide, Miigaa. We picked up some supplies and then we were off. It's a lot of driving throughout the trip (A LOT), but it's sooooo worth it to be able to see all the amazing sights the Gobi has to offer! The White Stupa, the Khongar Sand dunes, and the Flaming Cliffs were some of the highlights along the way. The natural beauty is off the charts and we were particularly surprised by the great biological diversity of the desert. I'm so glad we chose Sunpath because Miigaa was a tremendous guide. She was able to answer every question we had and it felt like traveling with a friend that we had known for a while. We loved the trip and we hope to back soon on a trip to another part of Mongolia! If you're thinking about going to Mongolia, do it with Sunpath!

I had a 6-day Gobi tour in the winter time. Although it was cold, I had a lot of fun in the trip and the nomadic families I have visited to. This is definitely a recommended tour for those who want to visit Mongolia in the winter time!

My daughter and I spent our favorite summer adventure ever this past July/August in Mongolia. We have travelled all over the world - central and South America, Cambodia, Thailand, China, Africa, Europe, etc. The "tour" that Doljmaa helped us create surpassed every expectation. We rarely use tour companies as we prefer to travel on our own steam, but Mongolia kind of demands local guides and safe, tough vehicles to truly explore it. Our guide, Buggy, and driver, Toya became like family and were utterly competent and professional, but also lovely, open, intelligent human beings. Our month in Mongolia was truly surreal! We rode horses to visit the Tsaatan reindeer herders where we got to experience the life of the herding families and even herd in the reindeer in the evening bareback on our incredible Mongolian horses (dream come true!), attended the opening ceremony of the Nadaam Festival and got to see several countryside Nadaams as well, we rode camels, hiked the massive sand dunes and explored the stunning Gobi, rode more horses in the Orhkon Valley, soaked in the hot springs, swam, played and did yoga around Khosvgul Lake, and the list goes on and on. Staying in the gers with nomadic families, helping the children herd in the sheep as the sun sets over the steppe, sharing tea and meals, galloping across the steppe.... so many memories of a truly authentic experience were made possible by the connections Sunpath has with local families and the respect they have for traditional life and culture. I was amazed by the experiences we were able to have and am SO GRATEFUL that we used Sunpath - flexible, professional, knowledgeable, authentic and a great value. We couldn't have been happier and will definitely use Sunpath again when we return to Mongolia, which is already tugging at our hearts.
