Chingis Khan Statue and Terelj National Park

1 review
Terelj National Park is set in a spectacular valley with fascinating rock formations and pine covered mountains, where you can enjoy horseback riding, hiking and photo shooting. It's the ideal destination for ones who have limited amount of time to explore the country. On this tour we will take you to a nomadic family and go on horse to Turtle rock, 23m tall turtle shaped rock - one of the famous places in Terelj and hike up to Aryabal medication temple on the beautiful hillside.

From the park we'll easily connected Chinggis Khaan Statue Complex. The statue is dedicated to Mongolian legendary emperor - Chinggis Khaan. It is 40m high and well known as the tallest equistrian stainless steel statue in the world. The museum inside the complex has small exhibition of "ger", traditional yurt.

Stumbled onto this gallery and found it interesting. A mixture of modern art with some art that gave some of the history of Mongolia through the eyes of the artist.

A free small gallery that can be great as part of a day spent exploring the city. The art on display often gives great insight into contemporary issues in Mongolia. Highly recommended.

Located in the city center, less than a 5 minute walk from sukhbator square. Free entry and friendly english speaking staff. The gallery is spacious and finely curated. Been there a handful of times, each time the art was just as impressive and wonderful as the last time. Make sure to like their facebook page on the off chance they're hosting an event when you are visiting! Their events usually draw a young and interesting art crowd that is slightly elusive otherwise!
