I had a few days available following 5 weeks in Covid isolation. A web search got me to Stone Horse Tours (i.e. no special connection or mates rates). Keith and the team bent over backwards to accommodate me and fit in an overnight horseback trip - even provided me with much needed wet weather gear. Sabine and Byambaa were great hosts and guides during the trip - even had a glass of red wine to sooth the sore muscles at the end of day one. I would recommend Stone Horse without thinking twice about it.

I have ridden all over the world and Stone Horse Expeditions is the finest outfit I have ever worked with . They take excellent care of their horses and are equally gentle with their staff and customers. They have been doing this for many years and have excellent knowledge of their entire country the local area and Mongolian history. It was absolutely a pleasure to spend the days with them. Their staff is superb and caring and very knowledgeable. They are very easy to communicate with and the staff speak excellent English. They are very accommodating, their provisions are first rate. They are dedicated to your having a wonderful time.

I attended to an 8 days trek in October 2019: Gorkhi Terelj National Park Expedition. My experience was amazing! Horses are super nice and alive! I couldn't image better views than we had in Gorkhi Terelj National Park. We were three guests in total, and Stone Horse had five people in their hosting team during the trek, so we really got excellent service for the whole week. Food was really good, and we even got freshly stove-baked bread :) Sabine is a power lady who helped us with everything and told us great stories. Weather was a bit cold, even -15 celcius degrees during the night, so you really need to cloth yourself properly. But you get a good list of things what to bring before hand. Owners, Sabine and Keith, are so helpful and they even hosted me in Ulaanbaatar day before and after the trek. I can highly recommend Stone Horse Expeditions!

Thanks for your comments and so glad you enjoyed your time here and the horses. It did get a bit cold, but hopefully the heated group tent made the mornings and evening meals worth it. The temperatures went back up the next week to 9c! Perfect riding weather.

August/September 2019, 8 friends and strangers embarked on the most exciting and fascinating trip I have ever taken. The itinerary told us where we would go but not exactly how and what treasures we would see along the way. Our guide was delightful and our comfort and happiness were her primary concerns. The gers were beautiful, the food flavorful and healthy and we were never hungry. "When will we get there?". "soon.". "What will we see?". It is a surprise!". And everything was more than expected. We forded rivers, many times. Sometimes stuck in the middle but there was no doubt that we would get out. We rode camels in the Gobi, horses in a National park, thank you to the wonderful owners of Stone Horse. Keith and Sabine were more than hospitable to all of us. This trip is not for everyone. Must be a curious adventurer and game for whatever may come your way. Being willing to hike and straddle four boards with a hole sometimes necessary. Care was taken in choosing locations to stay, places to eat and extraordinary places to visit. I loved every minute. Oh, did I say we rode in ox pulled carts 2 hours up into the most beautiful country, through streams and marshes, and two hours back I am 75 years old and managed everything. I would do it again.

Thanks so much for your comments. It was a pleasure to have the group travel with us. And yes, Mongolia is an adventure. With the tourism industry here still so young, it always makes for a surprise or two along the way. With our backgrounds in wilderness and extreme remote area logistics and travel (like Antarctica in a previous lifetime), we endeavor to be prepared for any eventuality. Come back next year and bring a few friends.

Excellent 3 ger stay + 1 day city tour. Went for a day long horse ride with Keith, who made the entire experience very enjoyable and relaxing, even though I was a complete beginner to horse riding. Keith's passion for horse riding and nature definitely shines through. Would definitely come back again. Davaa was a wonderful driver and guide during the city segments and speaks excellent English. Such a friendly guy, I certainly enjoyed chatting with him during our drives! Ger accommodation was basic as expected but I was certainly well taken care of, including all meals provided.
