My husband and I have made four trips to Mongolia with Classic Journeys Mongolia, traveling 15,000 kilometers (mostly off road), by foot, horse, and 4X4. We visited the amazing historic sites including the Flaming Cliffs, Karakorum, and Hustai National Park. But, we've also seen the glaciers in Western Mongolia, camped in the Gobi desert, and rode horses to the reindeer herder camps in the taiga. So far we have been to 14 of Mongolia's 21 provinces. For a unique, well organized trip to this amazing country, with a wonderful and knowledgeable guide and driver, we highly recommend Classic Journeys Mongolia!

This year we ( 2 pers.) travelled for the third time with “Classic Journeys Mongolia” for a new journey through Mongolia. Our destination this time was the North West.
Again a very beautifull holiday which was excellent prepared. All our wishes , including horse riding in the Altai mountain area, were included in our travelplan. This plan we received in good time before our departure, so it gave time and possibilties to make changes or alter elements of the trip when desired.
Our trip itself was very well attended for and we had the availability of an experienced and good humoured fun driver.
Our tourguide, also owner of “Classic Journeys Mongolia” , speaks excellent English and knows a lot of the country, Budhism, flora and fauna. Knowledge she shares with pleasure. Besides this she is skilled, attentive and also a great cook.
For our next visit to Mongolia we defenitely will choose again for travelling with “Classic Journeys Mongolia”.
We fully recommend “Classic Journeys Mongoli” as your tour operator.

Thanks Chimeg for another wonderfull, great and fun visit to wonderfull Mongolia.

We booked 11days trip to Gobi desert and Karakorum. This company organised a perfect trip for my family. Chimeg /owner/ understands well our needs, provided with plenty of information before the trip. Guide and driver were absolutely friendly and excellent team. We hope to visit Mongolia some day again!

We asked Chimeg to plan a long trip for us, from UB to the west taiga, then across the north of the country to Ulgii and back across further south, skimming the Gobi; nearly a month in all. She found us a great driver and off we went, by 4x4 and occasionally on horseback, tent camping, sometimes staying in ger camps, sometimes a hotel where there was one. We couldn't have dreamed of a better trip. Chimeg was always prepared, always a step ahead, thoughtful, and persistent. Whatever came up (and stuff does come up!) she was calm and capable. She loves her country and her calling and it shows in everything she does. And she's a good traveler and a fun companion. We were planning a return trip with her even before this one was over.

Our guide, Chimeg from Classic Journeys Mongolia took us to Tsaatan family deep in Mongolian Taiga in last August.
Based on many articles online, it could have been 10 to 16 hours of grueling, bone crushing off-road driving to Tsaagannuur, then switch to horse and riding long, long hours to reach reindeer herders - Dukha. But Chimeg knows the trick and has connection for sure! Jayaa, our driver certainly knows off-road driving and took us from Murun to river side fishing camp with ease. After switched to horse, it took us less than 3 hours and we reached the destination.
Tsaatan's life is very hard. Seeing their living, staying a couple of days there remind us how much we are spoiled, live a wasteful life. We felt ashamed. But also we feel lucky that Chimeg took us to "not to catered to tourists" family.
Chimeg knows the area well and also well prepared always, pays attention to every detail. Even roasted pinecones for us!

We spent twelve days last June exploring the Gobi in the capable and attentive hands of our guide Chimeg and driver Dasha of Classic Journeys Mongolia. Besides the must-see sites like the Flaming Cliffs, Singing Dunes, Lammergeier Canyon, and Mirror Wall, we ventured far west into much less traveled areas to camp and hike. Chimeg is an extraordinary guide - knowledgeable, energetic and always positive - and she consistently anticipated our needs and concerns, kept us well fed and hydrated, and surprised us with special touches like a bottle of wine to go with our sunset at the Flaming Cliffs. She clearly loves the Gobi and even though she knows it well she was as excited to explore it as we were. She handled unexpected turns of events (expect the unexpected on a trip like this!) with aplomb and confidence. I wouldn't go with anyone else.

I booked a tour to Terelj National Park. Owner and Tourguide Chimeg picked me up. This warm as well as enterpreneural woman composed a varied two days program. During the trip she shared a lot of her knowlegde of history, culture and day to day life in Mongolia. Her open mind and amusing way of entertaining her clients makes her special, and perfectly made for the job. The organisation around the trip was perfect. In time, affordable and the great connection this organisation has with the locals in the countryside makes it real worth to travel with. My compliments!

'Gobi desert isn't a desert at all', said Chimeg right away. 'Actually it's a semi desert.'
And she was right. Most part of Gobi is steppes from horizon to horizon. How to discover the secrets? You'll easily lose your bearings. So it was a big joy to have someone like Chimeg as a guide. Born somewhere in South Gobi she knows the ins and outs of this remarkable spot on earth. And luckily she knows how to share it with you. Friendly, warm, responsible and a huge knowledge about her country made our 7 day trip across Gobi desert an onforgettable experience.
