If you’re visiting Vientiane for the first time, get a hassle-free introduction to the capital city of Laos during a private tour. Unlike on a group tour, you’ll benefit from the undivided attention of your guide and enjoy the flexibility to customize your itinerary according to personal interests. Plus, rather than navigating an unfamiliar city alone, you’ll travel between attractions in air-conditioned comfort.

This service from Vientiane to Kungkai Thailand was very cheap, however it was 30 minutes late and departed late enough to almost cause me to miss my flight.

To find the bus to the Thai border continue past the bus shelters on your left and turn first right. The locals’ bus is there. Otherwise, stop at the bus shelters on your left, and catch the tourist bus to the Thai border and pay more. Cheap food available from the stalls around this bus station.

Talat Sao bus terminal looks insane - but there is method to the madness! We have been here many times (border crossings, Ocean water park, ITECC Mall, Buddha park). We have never had any issues. There is an office to buy tickets or if you don’t need a ticket, they at least speak enough English to point you in the right direction. We have found people very helpful. Bus drivers check with us often and sometimes even other passengers can help with destination pronunciation.

Most of the drivers of the Talat Sao Bus are friendly. Just show them where do you want to go and they help you to get on the right bus. However, the negative point is that some of them overcharges the strangers. There are no fixed schedule here. But the fixed one is the first and the last rounds. They might wait for the passengers until they can gain enough cost and leave the station.

It looks dirty and disorganized, but it is able to be managed fairly easily. Just kept saying "no" "borman" to the tuk tuk drivers.
