We had seen too many Wat/Buddhist Temple during our travels all over Laos and this church was a welcome change,it also reminded us of the fact that Laos used to be a french territory.Sombre and Glorious.

The daily mass (Mon-Sat) is 6:30am, not 6:30pm. This was confirmed by dropping by and looking at the poster outside the church.

This church next to the French embassy was built by the French during the colonial time. Now mainly used by Vietnamese.

Mostly visited by Vietnamese Catholics, the church also has a Filipino-run English mass every Sunday at 11am (if I remember correctly).

Although you are in Laos, the Sunday Mass I attended was in Vietnamese. There are very few Laotian Catholics, but the Vietnamese show up in force, with some beautifully attired. Interestingly, the women mostly sat on the left and the men mistly on the right....More
