An extraordinary edifice , apparently , so the legend has it , built with the concrete that was supplied to build a new airport runway . It's looking a bit worse for wear now but still worth seeing as a curiosity . Didn't make it...More

At first glance it reminds me of the famous Arch de Triumph in Paris from which the structure is patterned but the details of the decors show intricate Lao traditional motifs....this landmark should not be missed especially in the early morning or late afternoon for...More

This rather new monument is actually best suited for the view from the top. If not too late in the dry season it allows nice panoramic views over Vientiane. The shops in the middle and upper levels sell a lot of tacky souvenirs from t-shirts...More

It's a bit of a walk from the centre but well worth it. Impressive to see and there are benches in the shade and a stall selling cold drinks.

For a first time visitor, it's worth having a look and climbing to the top - where you get a good view. It is what it is, not so spectacular but the atmosphere around - locals exercising, eating ice-cream, hanging out......make it a decent area...More

A must see on your travels, very ornate and interesting structure. I walked there, 2.4 kms from hotel, very hot!! Would advise a tuk tuk if it’s hot and you have some distance to walk

One of the few places in Vientiane with a view of the whole city. The climb to the top is a challenge for some, but definitely worthwhile. There is 360 degree view.
