Thank you Luca for a truly amazing trip to Uzbekistan. The entire week was organized without a hitch thanks to our guide Mirzabek Ruzmetov. His encyclopedic knowledge of the country and delightful stories of local characters kept us entertained for many hours. We were impressed by the choice of hotels which were very clean and comfortable. The food was a revelation as we had expected rather stodgy fare but were served tasty and healthy varieties of dishes. Again, thank you and we will certainly recommend Kalpak Travel to all adventurous spirits we meet along the way.

We start planing a visit to Central Asia before Covid pandemic, but have to postpone it to this summer. We send the draft plan to Luca (co-owner of the company) and very quickly we manage to agree the final Itinerary. The idea was to visit all 5 Stan's, but unfortunatelly we have to skip Turkmenistan and Kazakhstan, becasue they are closed due to pandemia. For this summer Luca prepared us revised itinerary only for Kirgizistan, Uzbekistan and Tadjikistan. So far we have visited about 90 countries in different ways: own organisation, large groups, small groups,... and I must say that this trip was one of the best organised and guided. We had 3 best guides ever Danniar - Kirgizstan, Tulkin - Uzbekistan and Farhod - Tadjikistan The hotels were amaizing and the food was perfect. There wasn't a slightest "slip" we could complain about it. We really love it and we hardly wait we will visit Turkmentistan and Kazakhstan with (of course) KALPAK TRAVEL!

Luca offers an amazing tour service through his company, Kalpak Travel. I began working with him to arrange a stans tour before covid became a thing, and persisted in coordinating with him throughout 2020. When the first stan (Tajikistan) re-opened to tourism in October, within days Luca helped me get my visa and arranged a custom, private tour for me to visit the Fann Mountain region. The experience was phenomenal. Luca arranged for a english-speaking driver to pick me up in Dushanbe and show me the country. We visited and stayed in a number of authentic Tajik villages where I was able to see first hand the unique Tajik culture. The locals were exceptionally welcoming, and the scenery was breathtaking. The Kalpak Travel team went out of their way to make sure I was safe, comfortable, and happy throughout my trip. I couldn't recommend this company enough to anyone looking to visit the stans.

Our group of 7 seasoned travelers had a wonderful time with our guide Abdu Samardov. We traveled to Tashkent, Bukhara and Samarkand over one week's time, spending about 2 days in each city. A couple of highlights were creating ceramics in Tashkent and visiting a local village outside of Samarkand for a short hike. The food, transportation and accommodations were all very good and Luca at Kalpak was very responsive on some last minute changes to our itinerary. As someone else wrote, you should visit before the crowds arrive -- the people, the culture, the history -- all made for a very special educational and fun experience!

The guide you get can make or break your experience in a new place. Abdu Samadov and Kalpak Travel together made our visit to Uzbekistan a lifetime memory. I was in the group of 7 with robertrS8498GF (see his review) and concur with him that this trip was arranged to perfection, starting with an arrival in Tashkent a half-hour earlier than expected but there was Abdu to greet us and give us our first of many positive impressions of him and your company. Uzbekistan is a beautiful country with wonderful people. If you have never been, or perhaps never even thought of Uzbekistan as a travel destination, change your ways and add it to your list. But, by all means, go with Kalpak Travel and, if at all possible, insist on experiencing the country with Abdu Samadov--intelligent, educated, interesting, personable, kind, flexible, funny, and a sorcerer with an iPhone camera.
