The style is very Soviet, but it is quite an impressive site. Good places for photographs and to take a break from walking around. Also it includes the eternal flame and a few other statues around. Worth checking out.

Victory Square is a monument that is dedicated to the victory over Nazi Germany in WWII
It has an eternal flame at its centre and the statue of a lady, depicting a Mother waiting for the return of her sons.
At the time of my visit there were colourful flowers planted nearby. The area had a nice vibe. There were some stalls nearby that had games to play, which was particularly nice for children.
There was also a small market within a short walk, that was selling local produce of honey and plants.

Bishkek is filled with monuments and memorials, and since the city is not that large, one can do a self guided tour within a day and enjoy the ambiance of the city.

We passed through this square and park every day on our way out. The flame in the middle never goes out and often people are gathered around it just reflecting .
The grounds around and beautiful and there is also a market selling honey and plants.

I definitely really liked the design as well as the eternal flame in the center of it. The memorial really gives you a sense of what happened there years ago.

It was fun with the flame and stuff. Bit bizzarre with skateboard kids racing round. If you have been there once you have been there.

A peaceful, quiet square in central Bishkek celebrating victory over fascism by the Soviet Army (red star, hammer and sickle are at the top of a monument with arches over a flame). The flame burns eternally for those who sacrificed. Sculptures of Kyrgyz soldiers and people show their heroism.

Many Europeans are not aware of Kyrgyzstan's contribution to the defeat of Nazi Germany. 70,000 soldiers from the Kyrgyz Republic died during battle and an estimated 50,000 civilians due to the disastrous effects of the war amounting to 8% of its population at the time (three times more than for instance my own country the Netherlands occupied by the Nazis during that war).

At the margin of the square towards the city center are stalls selling plants and flowers.

Victory square is situated at heart of Bishkek as a memorial of war heroes and inside a nice well maintained park. Memorial flame is always burning there. We were told newly Weds come there for blessings and we could find two pairs during our stay. It is nice to see families friends celeberating and enjoying with champagne. Other big monuments are also nearby at walking distances.

This square is located on the north east of Bishkek city limit within Memorial Park. It is quite a distance from other major attractions
