The Killing Field and Toul Sleng Genocide Museum Tour

77 reviews
A professional English speaking tour guide will pick you up from your hotel and drive you to the killing fields of Choeung Ek Genocide Center – 9 miles away south of Phnom Penh. The infamous killing fields have a bloody history. Once an orchard and a Chinese cemetery, the Khmer Rouge, lead by Pol Pot, turned the place into what became known as the killing fields, where they executed around 20.000 victim. Over three years, they massacred and buried 2.5 million people. After remembering the dead, return to Phnom Penh to visit Tuol Sleng Genocide Museum (S21). Meaning hill of the poisonous trees, Pol Pot turned a once popular high school into a high security prison. 20,000 people were imprisoned there, many of whom were tortured for information. Today it serves as a museum and a reminder of darker days. <br>Your guide will return you to your hotel or guesthouse. .

Since 2016, I am every 4 weeks a happy visitor of Tokyo Barber Shop. Every time I visit TBS, I am very happy to meet the nice staff. If you want a good haircut, manicure/pedicure or massage, go to Tokyo Barber Shop. Wim

Great 1st-time face cleaning experience! Very relaxed and worth the price. I would recommend this place to foreign travelers. I think the specialist name was Somenh, and very professional.

I have been a loyal customer for the past several years and I would get a haircut about every 5-7 days. Since this time, they have increased their pricing twice. It went from $5 to $8 and now to $10. $10 is what is expected to be paid Europe, USA/Canada, Australia or in some first world Asian country in most cases. There is no benefit to the customer in any way to justify a price increase to $10. I could see paying this if it were somehow justifiable but there is not. For all those reading this…. There are far better places who offer more reasonably prices haircuts and or offer a true benefit that justify’ s the price they are charging. As a loyal customer I asked if they would honor special pricing considering how long I have been a customer and how often I get a haircut. They said no and would not honor this. THEY HAVE LOST ME AS A CUSTOMER and I will be sure to mention this to everyone.

Response from tokyobarbershop, Owner at Tokyo Barber Shop

You do not know what serious is, let alone what reality is. Our $2 price increase is to cover the costs of the rigorous sanitization and safety standards to protect all of us from Covid-19. Go to our website to watch our Youtube video showing how we keep everyone safe. Our Youtube video only captures 20%-30% of our procedures. We cannot show everything in a 4 minute clip. Your belief that a $10 haircut should only be reserved for expensive countries such as the US, Canada, Australia, & France is delusional. Some Phnom Penh barber shops have already been charging $10 for a haircut as recently as 2019, before anyone heard of the word Covid-19. 7 Barber & Mss is located behind the Royal Palace and Wat Botum area and their $10 haircut price does not include a shampoo. You can look it up on their Facebook About page. Atlantic Spa & Barber in Tuol Kork charges $8 for a haircut and $3.50 for a shampoo. So it’s $11.50 for a haircut and shampoo. Both are local Khmer barber shops serving a local Khmer clientele, not foreign expats. Their prices are pre-Covid-19. There are no Government cleaning regulations & standards for Khmer barber shops, let alone Covid-19 cleaning regulations & standards for Khmer barber shops. You are playing Russian roulette with your life and with the lives of those who come in contact with you. The typical cost of a haircut in the US, Canada, Australia, & France is $25-$35 USD. That is 3 times our cost. These barber shops do not include a shampoo in their haircut price, let alone staying open during the Covid-19 pandemic and instituting safety standards like Tokyo Barber Shop. US($27USD): Floyds Barbershop in Rockville, MD Canada($25USD): Crows Nest Barbershop in Toronto Australia($29USD): The Happy Sailors Barbershop in Sydney France($35USD): Les Garcons Barbiers at Chatelet/Paris What you are really declaring to yourself and everyone else is that you do not believe your life and everyone else’s life is worth anything, let alone $2. Take your deranged belief and act it out somewhere else. Stay away from our shop. You do not know what serious is, let alone what reality is.

Had a great experience here with a VIP package including cut, shampoo and massage. They suggested a shave also which was much needed and very much enjoyed. They were very thorough and professional and turned me out a few hours later looking good and relaxed. cost about $60 some USD.
