Unlike Siem Reap, Phnom Penh does not have many shops selling well designed and well made souvenirs. Many shops gave me that church bazaar feeling, well meant but not things that really delight.

Artisans Angkor was the only shop in town where I found hand made items worth keeping and giving away. And the quality is good: Their silk cushion covers I’ve bought eight years ago (25$ each) are still at their best while those bought at the market (20$ for four) have all fallen apart a long time ago.

Their downtown shop near the post office is the largest one, but there are two other places selling Artisans Angkor products: One is operated by China Duty Free at Naga City Walk, another one is in the airport departure hall (Dufry). At least the one at the airport is considerably more expensive than the post office branch. An item costing 38$ in town was 49$ at the airport.

Staff is cheerful and e-mail enquires are answered promptly.

I can’t add any more to the recent preceding reviews about the ethical origins of the shop and it’s contents except to confirm its principles.

The shop is well presented and well laid out. The gifts are of a high quality and are well made. You would be able to find gifts to suit all pockets here. The staff are friendly and helpful without being overbearing.

Our family ( parents and a child 6 years old) enjoyed very much our stroll among Artisans d' Angkor where we discovered all about Cambodian arts and crafts. The shop is very nice as well and the people who make the guided tour excellent. Totally recommended.

Visited this place today. Nice works, pricey though.
We were pretty astounded when the Centre's guide told us that he would like a tip at the end of his services. And he repeated that at the end too! His explanations provided were nothing exceptional and we could have read the signs ourselves to understand how the crafts were all done. Management clearly need to reel in this chap. We have been to many other enterprises with such tours of their set up and NEVER have we ever been asked for a tip.

My favourite place in Cambodia for off-the-rack fuss-free Cambodian silk items - Dresses, blouses, shirts, skirts, cushion covers, scrunchies and so much more. Really good quality silk that can be hand washed and is relatively hardy. Not cheap but it’s a social enterprise so I willingly part with my money for these excellent buys. Highly recommended!

Easy to find, close to the Post Office. Lots of lovely things in there to buy. Items are ethically sourced and purchases benefit the locals.

As part of our "immersion" our tour guide brought us to a Cambodian social business training and creating job opportunities for the young people in rural areas while reviving traditional Khmer craftsmanship. Providing vocational training in the handicrafts sector, Artisans' D' Angkor started as the offshoot of an educational project aiming at helping rural youth find a job near their home villages.

The trainees are young men and women aged 18-25 undergoing vocational training in handicrafts and other crafts. They are so skilled as they carved and design intricately designed objects. Kudos to all the mentors and agencies supporting this worthy endeavor.

Artisans d'Angkor is a charity which trains young people from rural areas in traditional skills, benefiting the youngsters and ensuring the skills aren't lost to the country. Being guided round the workshops provides a fascinating insight into the lacquerwork, silver crafts, wood carving and so on.

The shop itself is extremely extensive, with a vast range of products beautifully presented. Some is quite expensive, but some less so, and the quality and design of everything is extemely high. It's dazzling, very tempting, and you can justify it on the grounds that the money is going to be well used! I came home with a stunning silk dress, blouse and bag, and my husband with a shoe horn!

Truely beautiful shop with magnificent things to buy and bring back home. Founded with the aim of providing training and employment to underprivilaged rural Cambodians. We bought a rose wood head of the mother of Buddha, a silk cushen cover, a silk shawl with collorful imprint. But they have so much more. It cost some money, but you are sure that you will have something genuine and the money goes back to the ones that make these wonderful things.
