I have traveled with Nathan on 3 tours - and with other photography tour operators. Nathan's tours are the best of the lot. He consistently leads you to the most photogenic, most interesting people and situations when the light is just right.

An adventure plus a learning opportunity - From Feb. 9 - 20. We travelled from Jaipur, to Udaipur, through small villages, larger cities, the desert, the forest area, visiting local markets, water wheels, various temples - all the while capturing daily life. Nathan has excellent connections and persuasion skills, thus enabling photographers to take pictures of holy men, ladies young and elderly in brightly coloured saris, children playing, locals dancing, animals roaming the streets - the variety of photo circumstances continuous throughout the days and evenings. Nathan engages with each photographer, offering his experienced assistance and suggestions - to capture the perfect photo! Tour workshops are of exceptional value. Local guides are outstanding. Ash is an accomplished guide with excellent attention to detail, whose goal is that we enjoy and learn about "his India". Ash is personable and customer oriented - with an ability to read customers and ensure our needs were met. Bhanu is very knowledgeable, with an aim to please, always attentive, willing to help out, clarify and/or carry parcels, cameras, backpacks. He has a terrific sense of humour and patience. The bus drivers were incredible - negotiating extremely busy and sometimes horribly bumpy streets and roads, traffic going every which way, between cows, camels, pedestrians, tuktuks, motorcycles, cars and tata trucks - all the while ensuring our safety and comfort. Nathan has a desire for us to seize the heart of India via photography, and to enjoy and take these new skills on other adventures, Nathan Horton Photography tours - a class act!

India is on the bucket list of many photographers, and I had hoped to see colors, visit historic sites and to visit the Taj when I traveled to Rajasthan. Nathan Horton made my September visit magical in every respect and exceeded every expectation. He has refined the itinerary to see not only significant sites, but the most interesting off-the-beaten path parts of Rajasthan, covering a large swarth of the Golden Triangle. Every detail was considered for the trip: booking comfortable and interesting hotels or luxurious tents; arranging a small bus with attentive drivers who served up cool water whenever needed; engaging a travel coordinator, Ash, who anticipated every need and was a pleasure to get to know; scheduling shots when crowds were nonexistent or very small; jumping into festivals that were not on the itinerary but made for fantastic photos; and making certain each photographer in our group of eight got personal instruction and attention when needed. Be prepared to wake early and hit the streets until dark looking for the next great shot. Most of all, it was a pleasure to watch Nathan interact with the locals--he's gotten to know many people in Rajasthan, and you can tell that he is loved by them as much as he enjoys interacting with them and taking their photos. He knows Don who opens the Taj's gates each morning at 5:30 AM and assisted our group to enter the gates first and position us for iconic shots--a day I will never forget. Nathan LOVES photography--his enthusiasm is contagious and his work is fantastic. I am grateful that I had a chance to enjoy the trip with him and bring home photos that I will cherish.

My husband and I just completed our tour of Cambodia with Nathan. We travelled all the way from Canada for this trip. What a fabulous and well organized tour by Nathan. Not only was it a photography tour, it was also a cultural experience. Nathan made sure each and everyone of us saw Cambodia through our lenses and our senses. The country he has chosen to call home came alive to ourselves through him and the friendliness of the Cambodian people. Technically I learned more about the finer points of photography from Nathan than any other tour I’ve been on. Thank you for your patience of showing me the intricacies. Nathan nailed the tour logistically in a well thought out manner. He took us to places that are not common to everyday tourists. He knows the people and many know him. Many times in the oddest places people greeted him by name, again showing his deep involvement with the people and our group to make this one of my most memorable trips. Awesome job Nathan, hope to do another tour with soon.

Thanks Cornella, many thanks for your great review. The truth is that my life/ work is a lot easier when nice folk like you and your husband turn up on my tours. I hope I have nailed the itinerary after 13 years but I am always looking for improvements, nevertheless it was truly a pleasure to share Cambodia and a few photography tips with you. I look forward to seeing both you and Garth on any future tour.

I found the term "photography tour" actually misleading. Nathan finds a way to facilitate a seamless entry into his world, his lens is a portal into Cambodia's sheer nature and its unforgettable people. Everyone learned a ton: he manages to cater to a wide range of photography expertise. It's easy to overlook what goes into having perfect shooting conditions - no crowds, ideal lighting, unique access to a multiple temples and "secret places", while at the same time nailing down logistics and back-up plans. And Chan, our driver is just awesome. And, of course, everyone left with amazing photos! One of the most memorable experiences I've ever had.
