Kanika is the only cruise boat in Phnom Penh that is fully licensed and insured, so all you need to do is just sit back, relax and enjoy the spectacular views of the Riverside and Mekong.Our internationally trained chef produces classic Asian and Western Dishes, and we have a selection of set menus on our dinner and sunset cruises. On board we have a large spacious bar serving an extensive collection of beers, wines, cocktails and spirits, fresh juices and smoothies. We run daily sunset and dinner cruises from Tuesday to Sunday. Sunset Cruise: from 5 to 6.20PM; Dinner Cruise: from 7 to 8.45PM. The boat is available too for private events .

We'll worth the time - great sunset cruise.

Very nice boat and crew. Very reasonable for the sunset ride, but a bit pricey for drinks and food. Overall, a wonderful ride that lasted just over an hour and ten minutes. We saw all the other boats doing the same or similar route, and this boat looked to us to be the nicest looking boat out there.

A hassle free way to take in a gorgeous sunset.

I went on this boat trip with a few expat friends. We had all been on boat trips before. I preferred this one because everything was taken care of. No negotiating for an hourly rate, no self catering, nobody had to remember to bring ice and plastic cups. Just get on the boat, sit down and take in the sights and sounds. Friendly staff, well stocked bar. Will go again - dinner cruise next time.

I had the opportunity to participate in the sunset cruise with Jean Pierre and Géraldine last January. I had a really great time! The prices asked are really worth it, especially if you take the "Phnom Penh Heritage Tour" package. Another way to discover Phnom Penh, far from the noise and traffic.

Kanika, the French restaurant that has no bread

Kanika has recently changed owner and the French gentleman in charge has advertised for the "uplifting" of its standards. True: there are cold cuts and cheese on board. But how do you enjoy them when there is no bread on board.? We were the only two clients for dinner and had made a proper reservation in the morning. The explanation given by the boss over the telephone was: the passengers of the sunset cruise have eaten all bread on board. Who said "uplifting"? Oh yes, more, the boat was on shore with a hotel restaurant and plenty of bread 50 meters away.

Unlucky encounter with a rude staff

We are a family of 3 and we joined the sunset cruise today. We board the boat early at 4:30pm (in fact we were the first on board) and the sun was hot, so we were told we could go to the back of the boat where it is shaded. Upon sitting down for 10 minutes, we were told by the same staff we had to move after the boat moved because a group of 12 is coming and the section is private. I said ok.
So at 5:05pm when the boat moved, I signaled a different staff to come over because we wanted to order drinks. She came over, I said Hi and before I could continue, she told us to move now, with frustrated face and tone. I asked if we could move later, she said NOW, Still with that frustrated face and tone. I asked her why she is so angry and scolding me, since I am also a paying customer. Needless to say, we did not get the chance to order any drinks and of course, we moved to the front of the boat.
Well it doesn’t matter where we sit, but surely a little patience, reminder and manners would be nice instead of saying NOW.
All in all, the cruise was fine but the staff could have been better trained.

Do not book or ride this dinner cruise boat.

Dinner was very bad. Night cruise was nice for the view but dinner again not good. I recommend a menu change or new cook. Tasted like frozen filets of fish and nuked in a microwave. Staff was nice but way overpriced for the experience for dinner and cruise. I saw some low ratings on tripadvisor and read managements response. Wow! I thought it was a one off but its clear to me now after my experience. Clearly its a cash cow business they are running and mgt has poor choice of words when replying to customers bad experience. They did not even care of the next potential customer that would consider the reviews into making plans. My 1st and last with this cruise company. Ending with stay away from Kanika Cruise. 0 stars was not able to be selected so 1 it is.

Dear Maddy, thank you for your bad comment... We don't use to have some and i take note of yours. First of all, notice that all our food is fresh and we don't have microwave... As i already said to you (because it is your second comment in 2 days on trip...), if your fish was not cooked enough, you should have ask my crew to cook it a bit more, but you didn't. You prefer to destroy reputation of a restaurant on the river which is consider as one of the best in Phnom Penh. We use to take care of everyone and the comments are all welcome BUT we cannot anything against bad faith and people who prefer to make comment after instead of front of us. When we are wrong we accept and correct us but i know by experience that a really few people prefer to criticize but not in live. Don't come back and as you said in your previous comment, prefer the street food... all taste are in Nature

It's refreshing to take a trip on the river after a hot day in Phnom Penh and simply enjoy the sunset, the drinks and the food.The staff is very friendly, I would totally recommend it :)

Good food and really good time

I took this tour 2 years ago with my father and we wanted to do it again this year, still a really good thing to do in PP.
Food was really good, staff was super nice and friendly and the cruise was beautiful. It's going super fast, could stay there 3 or 4 more hours :-D
I'd recommend it to any one, tourist, expats or locals

cool and windy tour. great opportunity for watching sunset

good and relax tour around the mekong/tonle sap river with sunset as the background. good for photo taking opportunity and to enjoy the breeze with family. the service is good as the staff are friendly. we were there on end of December and I'd advice travellers to suit up as the wind is extremely chilly. On that day, temperatures at night went to as low as 18 degrees celcius.

The sunset boat trip is recommendable. Staffs speaks excellent English. The cruise brings passengers for a 1 1/2 hours ride in Mekong & TonleSap River. The journey will allow those on board to see evening activities along the riverbank as well as enjoying the sunset. For USD7, it worth the amount paid and it is a good way to spend your evening before heading for dinner in the city.
