Kartalab Khan Mosque popularly known as Begum Bazar Mosque is located in the Begum Bazar area in the old part of the Dhaka city. It is one of the oldest mosque in the city. According to the historians, the mosque was built more than 300 years back by Diwan Murshid Quli Khan Alias Kartalab Khan. This mosque was built over a platform like high vault with five domes at the top of it and two-shed like room. The two-storied mosque has divided into two major parts with its century’s old architectural attractiveness. The area is very crowded like other part of the old Dhaka, therefore, one should plan to visit other nearby attractions and famous restaurants in the area.
