Its a place within the busy old Dhaka street, surrounding gives a feel of a mixture of old and new Dhaka. Hindu religion believers worship here during Hindu festivals and Puja, this place is the most vibrant and festive place.

The thrill to visit there is like the birth place of Dhaka. The name of Dhaka comes from this historical place. And the diversity of culture is just awesome. The environment it self is enough for to visit. In there the goddess Kali/Durga is said to be the defender of whole Bangladesh according to the vedas and purans. The smell of being there in the Diwalli is just majestic. You have to be there to feel the unforgettable experience. Belive me you will never regret.

Striking Temple
Dec 2019
This temple complex in Old Dhaka is quite striking. Domes and bright colors, it is interesting to visit. Of course, you have to take your shoes off. The ground can be very dirty and damp. It is a peaceful respite from the din and pollution of the city.

A National Monument
Dec 2019 • Friends
A Durga temple stated to be about 800 years old is dedicated to Devi Durga. It has been declared by the Bangladesh govt. as a National Monument. Situated in the old city is well maintained. It is thronged by the local Hindus especially during the Durgapuja. The Dhaka city is named after the deity.

Oldest Temple of the Dhaka City
Jan 2019 • Solo
It's the most popular and oldest temple of Dhaka City, established in 16th century or ago. Till today, it's the common religious place of "Hindu" religion.

Not wheelchair friendly at all
Nov 2019 • Solo
My reviews are usually keeping in mind the wheelchair friendliness of the place so the rating depends a lot on that....there are very few places that are there to visit in Dhaka, i had lot of expectations from these few places at least ....dhakeshwari temple was only 3 kilometres from my Hotel but it took me one and half hour because we were stuck in the traffic jam on reaching their we requested the security to open the gate so that we could Park the car inside because there was massive traffic outside, he allowed us to park the car outside the gate and I did take my wheelchair inside the temple... at the very beginning of the entrance there is a huge stage kind of thing where there are a few idols of all Mata but the main purpose was to go and see the temple, as I went a little further there were a huge amount of steps, no way I wanted to take the trouble to go down the steps after having so many not happening experiences with other tourist places. I knew what to expect so I turned around even after knowing I had spend 500 Taka per hour for the taxi and the time wasted in traffic jam.
