This place is no place for relaxing or leisurely sight-seeing... this is more the sort of place if you want to photograph the hustle and bustle of Old Dhaka and the water ways of Dhaka... there is pollution, there is smell, there is dust and there is dirt... for foreigners it is not recommended to go there without guide... also... Not actually a good place for hanging around as the place is dirty and not well maintained. But could be a good place to visit is well maintained.

if you visit sadarghat @ monsoon then it is very attractive ! but if you visit in winter then you may not like it because of bad smell of water (due to pollution )

Sadarghat is used as one of the entrance of Dhaka (Old Dhaka) since its birth. You will find a beautiful river full of life (though during dry season, the river become highly polluted and you will get bad smell). There are few historic places surrounding this area. Sadarghat is mainly the largest Launch/Steamer terminal in Dhaka. The main river route is maintain from here to South and western part of Bangladesh.

It is fascinating. But water is very much polluted with bad smell.Earlier water was Blue. But in rainy season journey boat in Sadar ghat is very Charming. At least one time you can try.

Very interesting place for the foreigners. Crowd, launches, boats, people all makes the place unique to any traveler. Its a much see for the people who likes to see unique places

I really enjoyed my time here - I paid a ferry man to take me over the river to see the workers breaking ships just down river, they were really friendly and I got some great photos. I enjoyed it so much that I went back the next day for a repeat dose of the Buriganga River. The river itself... More
