Ali Shamsi is an exceptional true artist! We visited his workshop in Icherishehir which was very nice. He was very kind and welcoming too! According to him everybody can draw, so he allowed my younger sister to draw whatever she wants on a canvas that he was working on at that time! He also gave us a little souvenir!
I really recommend visiting him at least once if you’re in Baku.

This small gallery is an absolute gem. When we visited, Ali Shamsi was actually on there. He e planned some interesting ideas behind some of his main art. He stood for a few photos with us and some others and he absolutely glowed. It was a pleasure to be in his presence. The Gallery itself sits in the Old City and the artwork outside is an attraction in itself. Don't miss this place on your trip through the Old City.

I wanted to see this because I had read great reviews. There were two men working there who spoke almost no English. When I asked about buying a particular piece, he did not know how much it was - only the artist knew. Don't know where he was. If you are in Old Town and pass it, worth a couple minutes to go in. It is very small. I am an art lover, but this place was not particularly impressive or interesting. The exterior was kind of fun for photos. If you want to see wonderful art by Azerbaijani artists, go to Modern Art Museum.

This place is situated inside of old city and has different, warm atmosphere. I always feel like staying there for longer. Entrance is free of charge and Ali lets you take photos of his masterpieces. He tries to welcome everyone and makes sure everybody feels like home. I come back to this places every single time i am around the area. Years ago he also used to do fortune telling :) not anymore :) but if you ask, he might look at you and tell smth regarding your character or past or future :) definitely recommend this place for atmosphere, art and positive energy!
