Right in the middle of old city. A very interesting mosque with very nice decorations marking the high standards of old islamic Baku.

Old structure but beautiful. Built in typical style of the past. Stone construction and carved beautifully on the exterior. Very peaceful and meditative inside. The ceilings are decorated with floral patterns and calligraphy.

Mosque Cuma is a place for worship of Muslims during Fridays. As far as there are lots of Muslim countries in middle east, in comparison with others, you will be disappointed.

Cuma Mosque lies in the old city of Baku not far away from Maiden Tower. Its exterior is not overwhelming, apart from the porch with chiseled decorations. This building, which has got a minaret, too, was built at the end of the 19th century, but it had some predecessors, among which a religious site (like Ateshgah). Inside there are a few interesting patterns on the walls and ceilings. They reminded me of the design of Persian carpets. Of course, there are also quotations of Surahs from the Holy Quran.

This Mosque was closed when we wanted to visit. However, the size of the mosque seemed to be very small form the outside..
