When we went the it was a really windy night and the flag was huge. But the wind was blowing so hard that the flag looked great. Apparently this is the second tallest flag pole in the world. We were going to a restaurant that was nearby so we took a little detour to see this sight.

The National Flag Square is part of the Baku Boulevard located along the shores of the Caspian Sea. The world's biggest flag is flying proudly here, however, the record has been grabbed last September 25, 2014 when the Saudi government received a certificate from the Guinness Book of Records recognizing the Jeddah flagpole as the tallest in the world.

The huge Azeri flag forms an integral part of the Baku Skyline along with the Flame Towers on the other side of the road.

Would give it five stars if the flag was actually there. Used to be huge, impressive flag but was taken down. I believe it will be replaced by even bigger one, until then though - 1 star, nothing to see here. Move along, this is not the flag you are looking for.

The Azerbaijani flag is beautiful and the square is located in new Boulevard, however entrance to the flag square itself often shut. The military guards is very friendly and helpful. Worth a visit

National Flag Sq is in Neftciler, Baku. The flag of Azerbayjan in there is second biggest flag of the world. The flag measuring 70 by 35 metres (230 by 115 feet) flies on a pole 162 m (531 ft) high. I think it is great that every country have such this huge flag. you have a nice trip there and nice time, don't forget to go Baku Boulevard from there! i suggest reviewers to write their reviews in English, i know that it's easy to write in mother tongue but less of people understand it!

There is no flag on National Flag Square but our tour guide explained us it is because of the weather. Strong winds are very often in Baku. But it was a bit disappointing however the area looks great.

There is no flag as it fell down. The cops don’t like you taking photographs and the area is barricaded off.

It seems everything is closed off for access in the Baku. The place is MASSIVE, almost to an incomprehensible scale. For a while it was the largest flag in the world.
