Hi, this is a lovely tower. I didn't see any signs in the area indicating where it was: we went with a guide who knew where he was going. So, some location markers would be good in the nearby roads. Collecting the key from the local is absolutely fine, but perhaps if you don't have a guide with you some notice about where the key is held could be better. The attraction has upper floors that are not all accessible. The main thing would be if these floors were made accessible, which I think would need a few safety checks, by putting in a rope handrail on the spiral stairs it would be made safer. I don't recall there being much if anything on site to tell you about the history of the tower. Information boards and perhaps a few photographs or drawings of how it had looked in the past would have been really good. It was difficult to understand what had happened there in the past because there was not that information. There are steps up to the outer wall which were accessible and gave great views of the surroundings. Again, details of what you are seeing, diagrams picking out what you can see on the panorama would be good, especially when you are taking photographs. Our guide told us that the tower had been used in cinema films, so some pictures of that or actual items from the film would have been interesting. Basically, this is a lovely tower in a lovely location that could be a real tourist attraction for people to stop off at when they are heading to some of the more famous sites. It could become very popular as other sites in the area are. It might be an idea to ask directly some of the guides who work the area, as they might have some helpful comments to help you too.
