- Milind ShahAhmedabad, IndiaHighland Park in Baku offers an unparalleled panoramic view of the city from its elevated vantage point. Visitors can take the funicular (which charges only 1 manat) or climb the stairs (though it's quite challenging). The park overlooks the Caspian Sea and provides a great view of the Flame Towers. It's a must-visit spot, especially around sunset. The restaurant there is reasonably priced and serves excellent food and drinks.Visited May 2024Traveled with friendsWritten July 10, 2024
- We went a bit before sunset so got to see some of the smaller landmarks (like Alley of Martyrs) and enjoyed the view of the city both in the day and night. The “Baku Panoramic View” point in Google Maps is excellent, and gives you a lovely view of the city including the Flame Towers light show, which keeps running on loop after sunset. The park itself is also well-maintained!Visited May 2024Traveled with familyWritten June 22, 2024
- Ahmed AladdinDubai, United Arab EmiratesHighland Park is undoubtedly one of the must-visit spots in Baku, offering breathtaking panoramic views of the city and the Caspian Sea. Perched on a hill, this park is an ideal place for a relaxing stroll, photography, or simply soaking in the serene ambiance. The park’s well-maintained pathways lead to scenic viewpoints, including a stunning vista of the Flame Towers, one of Baku’s iconic landmarks. If you visit during the evening, you’ll witness the city lights shimmering like jewels, creating a magical atmosphere. Another highlight of Highland Park is its proximity to the Martyrs’ Alley and Eternal Flame memorial, which adds a layer of historical significance to your visit. The blend of tranquility and history makes the experience truly unique. There’s a funicular ride that takes you to the top of the park, which is both convenient and enjoyable, especially for families or those who prefer not to walk up.Visited August 2024Traveled soloWritten November 26, 2024
- Amazing views from top :-) Visited with family and we went up by tram/cable car and walked down to carpet Museum It was all beautiful scenery around with sea view at one side and city view on other sideVisited September 2024Traveled with familyWritten October 6, 2024
- Coryy20Port of Spain, TrinidadIf you want to see most of the city's coastline and the buildings in the city this is the place to visit. This park is also called Dagusta Park. To get to it you can either take a taxi up, take the stairs..the steps is about 15-minute long walk up or you can take the cable car up. On the day I visited the cable car was not working so I use a taxi to get there. This park is also called that Dagusta Park and it is very popular with the tourists. It very beautiful and very clean park with lots of green spaces. However the look out spot is most popular for the best view of Baku and for photos.Visited November 2023Traveled soloWritten June 22, 2024
- Juby JEmirate of Abu Dhabi, United Arab EmiratesThis is the highest viewpoint of Baku. It's part of most city tours. It needs climbing almost 100 stairs to reach the top, so if you do not have strong legs and heart, you can avoid it. But if you can reach the top the view is spectacular. It's a perfect spot for some amazing pictures. You can see the entire city in one go. You spend 15 mins here and your camera will be filled with some panoramic views. I would say must go in and when the daylight is on for good picturesVisited April 2024Traveled with familyWritten May 21, 2024
- Soudamini MBengaluru, IndiaThe Highland Park is the highest point in Baku with an amazing panorama to the city. The park is located in the center of Baku and offers wonderful view of Baku bay and Baku Boulevard along the Caspian sea. The view in the evening is truly magnificent. There is a restaurant in park. A very nice place to spend time in Baku.Visited May 2024Traveled as a coupleWritten July 4, 2024
- mtfrequentflyingUnited StatesThis park is apparently very nice to see at night but we saw it during the day. It has many stairs to go to the top to see the view of Baku but you can take a funicular to the top. It has an amazing view of the Caspian sea.Visited July 2024Traveled as a coupleWritten July 9, 2024
- EmaRoroOnTheRoadParis, FranceThis is just my opinion but it’s the place I liked the most in town. The park is sublime, the paths are wide, it’s calm and clean. But above all it is the most beautiful panorama of the city. You can stay there for hours looking at the city and admiring the flame towers. The mosque is the oldest and certainly one of the most beautiful. We have a mix of modernity and nature. A memorable and, for my part, unforgettable place.Visited May 2024Traveled as a coupleWritten May 5, 2024

Highland Park offers an unparalleled panoramic view of Baku city from its elevated vantage point. For the ultimate experience, I recommend visiting just before sunset. This timing allows you to witness the magical transition between day and night, as the city lights begin to illuminate the skyline while the last rays of sunlight cast a warm glow. The combination of daytime and nighttime views creates an enchanting spectacle that captures the essence of Baku's charm. A visit to Highland Park is a must for anyone seeking to capture the heart and soul of this vibrant city from a breathtaking perspective.

Highland Park is a must-stop for anyone visiting Baku. It gives you a wonderful view of the city and the coastline and is itself so well-laid out and neatly manicured that one can spend hours there going up and down its many terraces and enjoying the ambience. Try and go there in the evening, before dusk so you can enjoy the view in the daylight and then again by night. The three flames, lit with different coloured lights, make the wait for it to get dark completely worthwhile.

For the first time got a view of " Flame Towers", the landmark of Baku city from a handshake distance on arriving by vehicle on Highland park and alighting near the Funicular station. The view of " Flame Towers" and the rest of Baku city from the elevated height of "Highland Park" was awesome. Next ,visited the "Turkish War Memorial" situated on the main road facing the Funicular station which was built by the Turkish Government in 1990 . From the " Turkish War Memorial" crossed the road and walked across the beautiful garden pathway of the Azerbaijan Martyrs Memorial. "Martyrs Lane " is a war memorial as well as cemetery dedicated to those killed by the Soviet army on "Black January 1990" and in the First "Nagarno -Karabakh War of 1988-1994".Walked along "Martyrs Lane" to the other end of the park towards the Caspian sea coastline and came across the eternal flame monument which is often visited by Azerbaijani Presidents and other high official dignitaries.Walked towards the end of Highland Park facing the Caspian sea and got a "Bird's Eye View" of Baku Promenade. Spotted Deniz Mall" which is a replica of the Sydney Opera house and looked awesome from Highland Park."Baku Crystal Hall" indoor arena that hosted the 2012 "Eurovision Song Contest" is situated next to " National Flag Square" along Baku Boulevard Caspian sea coastline. The Funicular on a ticket of 1 Manat offers a ride from Highland Park to the base of Baku boulevard near "Carpet Museum" and vice-versa, a total travel time of 10 minutes in one direction.

Highland Park is often the first stop on the itinerary of many tourists. I wound't recommend visiting during day time because the sun can be too hot and also their is too much of sunlight, it does washout some photos.
There are graves of people who were killed by Armenians in the Armenia-Azerbaijan war in 90s.
The park offers great photography background

A well wide spreader Park located on a height. It's accessible by stairs and funicular both.To climb by stairs is pretty difficult and needs a good stamina and time both. It's advisable to take funicular which charges only 1 manat. You can view caspian sea and baku from this park. One must visit it when you are in Baku.

The weather is a bit hot in August but still manageable. The day time is long and sun sets nearly about at 7:45 PM.
Nozami Street is a good place to spend time and for food. Sand quality at the beach areas is quite average. About 3 -4 days are more than enough for Baku.

The Highland park is located on the highest point of Baku. From the terrace, you will have a fantastic panoramic view of the city and Caspean sea. If you are visiting Baku, never miss it. For the first time visitors, there is catch on how to get there. Are you fit and healthy to do 200 meters of stairs? Mostly not. There are two ways to get there. First, get a taxi and ask him to drop you near flame towers or Martyer mosque ( also knows as Turkish mosque). You can walk easily through Martyrs Line to the terrace of Highland park for breathtaking view of city. The second way to get there is from Baku boulevard. If you are fit and healthy, do stairs to get to the top Or use funicular from the Baku boulevard to get to the top. Nice restaurant on the top. Very convenient places to shoot photos with background of flame towers.

We went there on a hot morning. The funiculeur didn't work because of pandemy or who knows - may be it was broken. So we had to climb up the stair cases. But upstairs the view was so wonderful that you forget about difficulties. The Flame towers are close from this point and the city spreading around makes the picture worth coming. There is a cafe here, where we had ice cream and tea/ cake. The park around can be nice in spring or autumn, but it was too hot to stroll there in summer.

A must do if in Baku the views across city and a great view of flame towers coupled with location to caspian shoreline and promenade makes is a no brainier. The restaurant is reasonably priced and offers excellent food and drinks. The local wines are delicious (Georgia wines beat them but Az wines are great) . Visit at night for a great panorama of city and a great show from Flame towers the Martyr walk and monument is very well kept and the British military monument by waterfalls are a revelation.

Lovely park to get away from it all it can get busy with tours. Lot to see and do there is a tunnel tram that can take you up and down.
It good to go both in the day and late evening the views are fantastic both times of day. A memorial War dead and a tower with a flame in it I love how the flame can just burn and it a big one blowing all over and there no health and safety in place you can go as near as you like and unlike many other place no one is being stupid. It a must see

You should take a taxi to the park, and there there is a way to reach the panoramic view point without stairs. Just follow the middle alley through the cemetery till its end and to the left.
Don't ask for the taxi to the towers, like we did, as the entrance to the towers is lower.

Yes its the same place. It may be two parks joined together, but essentially the same place. Funicular takes you to the top for great views of the city and the flame towers. Best to go just before dusk to see the towers up close when the light show is on.
