Located right near the History Museum of Azerbaijan.

Anyone whoever comes to Baku must see Taghiyev's house because Azerbaijan is famous with its oil and Taghiyev was national industrial magnate and philanthropist.

An interesting Museum depicting the history of Azerbaijan. I would definitely recommend taking a guide; I was fortunate enough that this museum was included on my scheduled tour of the area. You have to bare in mind that there is a lot of history between Azerbaijan and its neighbours and obviously the presentation is very much a biased view .... More

This museum gives a really good overview of Azerbaijans history (perhaps with a slight political slant). It is definitely worth getting a tour guide. Our guide spent two hours with us and was enthusiatic and reqlly into the material. Definitely worth a visit

We enjoyed a lot the visit at the Museum.. In the beginning we thought to stay an hour.. we paid for a tour guide and stayed for two hours. The museum summarize much of Azarbijan History which is very interesting. our children also found it interesting.

My advice is Take a guide! Nice museum. I enjoyed it. I was shocked particularly by the history of the 19th and 20th century. Having visited Georgia National Historical Museum and this one I had to think and digest the information i got. Ukraine, Georgia, Azerbaijan have got SO MUCH IN COMMON. same history, same events, same reasons. Worth visiting... More

A beautiful place, yet again history of other nations is blatantly and deliberately used to create a new ancient Azerbaijan. I could write a 1000 page critical review, but I was stunned at the revisionism and claims on the history & culture of neighboring nations

This museum takes you back into ancient times and then slowly, century by century brings you to modern Azerbaijan. Comprehensive exhibitions, cheap to visit. I would allow about 2 hours for the visit

The museum is quite difficult to find, it blends in with its surrounding residential buildings so make sure you ask around when u r trying to find it as the locals seem to know where it is located. The inferior design and decoration is stunning and is very informative of Azerbaijan's history and culture. Highly recommended if someone is visiting... More
