When I got down from the cab I noticed that my luggage already been put to a trolley by two unknown persons. They forcibly carried the trolly until security check point inside the airport whilst I repeatedly told them that I want my luggage back. They were well organized as the main man who was kind of old had a relatively young supporter on the side. The distance between luggage drop and security check point is only 10 meters or less and these fellows were forcibly asking me for 10 Manats. When I gave them only 05 Manats the old man was peeping into my wallet and asked for another 02 Manats.
Highly disrespectful and cannot be expected at an international airport.

Arrived Haider Aliyev airport quite late in the day (20:00hrs). Resolutely decided taxis would be a rip off. Decided on public transport.
First had to buy bus ticket and a system card from machine outside arrivals door. Machine only in Armenian and Russian. No English. Blimey ! Eventually had to get nice policeman to leave his post and help us. Bus fine. 5 manats each as I recall. ÂŁ2.30. Seemed cracking value. Got off May 28th square - town centre and to the metro. Had to top up card for the next ride. Two stops to Nariman Narimanov (very efficient) but then 25 minute walk to the Excelsior hotel. Arrived triumphant but somewhat tired. One in the eye for the taxi guys.
However, early flight on the way back so had to get a taxi. Speechless to find it was 12 manats (ÂŁ5.50) all in to the terminal door. Can't say it's the same from the airport to the city but even if it's close, it's a bargain. More fool me !!

It is a convenient on-line service accessible from any place with wi-fi availability. The cost of the transfer is market-based. The driver has been on time. Though we did not find him at once, he was there with our name tag. We liked the service and requested the driver to take us back to the airport. He was again on time and with a fair fare.

Terrible experience with the London Taxi from the airport cause we were for sure way way over charged. We arrived on the 20th of August 2022 at 02:00 AM and we were going to a hotel in City Center and the driver charged us 70 AZN. The normal cost should be around 20. With Bolt will even be less than that. Recommend highly to use Bolt application which is fast and cheap.

Here is an example of an airport that is modern but not functional. Checking in is always difficult. They have security at entry, which always seems more like a bunch of bored and rude Garda both female and male. They certainly are unfriendly. Check in is always a mess no matter who you fly with. Azeris have a long way to go still in offering friendly customer service. Inside they have a funky machine for your shoes. Best thing to do is simply take them off and pass them through the x ray machine. Again, don’t expect people to be nice or friendly, especially the females who seem positively grumpy. Inside there are two biz class lounges. Both are terrible. Rubbish food of the poorest quality. The bar is stocked up well however.

We landed at this internation airport on the 28/10/2024. Clearance with immigresion and custom was fast. Alot of outlets inside to purchase items.

Immigration officers and airports staff are extremely discourteous and rude. No smile and harsh tone is normal chore.

The team was great and provided help with ease upon whatsup chat. The driver was waiting outside the terminal exit with my name on a paper as promised.
