After nearly ten days in Baku, trying to find an individual or tourism company that offers me that particular comprehensive regions tour I was looking for without luck, a coincidence led me to be introduced to Camping Azerbaijan through a local friend, and that was a great highlight of my trip. They are real game-changers when it comes to touring the regions, either in overnight or one-day hiking trips. Unlike many others in the market who try to accommodate as many activities and places in a matter of a few hours, CA organises a unique and immersive experience for people to get up-close and personal with the culture and the people by creating a detailed route plan with multiple stops along the way for tea and food in local houses, combined with interesting commentaries about the places we pass by, and some tales from their past and present by our amazing guide, Elvin. All while upholding the concept of ecotourism and having the preservation of their beautiful nature and the countryside life at the heart of their purpose, which I value and appreciate. I thoroughly enjoyed my hiking trip with them in the North of Azerbaijan, (which was also my first ever hike, and definitely not the last), and an overnight stay in a local guesthouse in the village of Griz where we got to live a normal day in a different lifestyle. Would highly recommend anyone truly looking to explore the regions of Azerbaijan to let it be with them. More than just a service, they host a wonderful community of likeminded people, which to me, was the most invaluable part.

We booked a private, day-trip hike with Camping Azerbaijan and had a great time, with a great recommendation for our day trip up near Quba to go see Griz Waterfall. We booked easily via Whatsapp. Elvin was very quick to respond, very helpful, very professional, lots of energy and lots of fun, very educated and gave us hiking tips as I am a beginner. They plan group trips on the weekend that are available to join or you can book a private trip. They also plan entire Azerbaijan itineraries. There homestays sound amazing! I already want to go back in May or over the summer to do more with Camping Azerbaijan! It was a very personalized experience meeting real locals in non-touristy areas. Camping Azerbaijan was recommended to me as an eco-friendly hiking group by friends who lived in Azerbaijan teaching at an international school there, and I was most thrilled and pleased with my experiences with them. I could not more highly recommend Camping Azerbaijan for any and all experiences throughout Azerbaijan! They are fantastic!

I just returned from a great 5 day hike. The homestays were clean, very interesting and the families were super hospitable. The food was varied, of high quality and there was almost too much of it. I was stuffed at every meal! Hiking the trails between the villages was scenic and not too demanding- just enough to keep it interesting. I imagine in the summer when the sheep herds are out and everything is green it would be even more spectacular. My guide was Elvin and you could not ask for better. He had everything super organized from stops on the way for food and coffee to all the transport and accommodation arrangements. I even had a dietary restriction that he told the families about which they followed. He was able to answer most of my questions and was concerned about my well being- from making frequent rest stops to concern about the marks on my head from low door frames! Caused by my clumsiness. Elvin is enthusiastic about his country, the environment, the sustainability of the villages and their tradition and is also a top notch birder. Overall- the trip exceeded my expectations and even the weather cooperated! Thanks Camping Azerbaijan!

It was fantastic, safe, relaxing and amazing tour which will last in my memories for a long time. Team, transport, service, food, attention - just perfect and in my opinion even more :) With all respect to Camping Azerbaijan!

By far the best experience in Azerbaijan! When I knew I was going to Azerbaijan, I decided I wanted to hike in the Caucasus mountains. After scouring the internet, I contacted Camping Azerbaijan, and they arranged a private 4-day trip for me. I was picked in Baku by the lovely and lively Gunay, who was my tour guide for the first 3 days, and we drove to Xinaliq (switching cars in Quba). In Xinaliq, we had lunch at a local home, took in the beautiful view from the village, before starting our trek towards Galakhudat village. There we had a nice dinner and stayed the night. On the second day, we walked the scenic path from Galakhudat to Giriz. The views on this day were breathtaking, including the majestic eagles dancing above us. As we descended to Giriz waterfall, we were joined by Shaiq the shepherd, later known as "The Romantic Tour Guide". It's a beautiful waterfall, and it looks magical when it freezes in winter (maybe I will do this trek in winter one day). We continued to Giriz village, where we walked around the ancient graveyards, and where I played football with the locals, before we had dinner and stayed with Shaiq's family. On the third day, Shaiq's uncle drove us to a high viewpoint, from where Gunay and "The Romantic Tour Guide" took me on the trek towards Laza. Although it was a foggy day and we couldn't always see the mountain tops, I enjoyed walking through beautiful flowery meadows. We stopped for tea with a couple of shepherds, before descending towards Laza. In Laza we were joined by Sahin, my tour guide for the last day, and there we stayed with another friendly family. On the last day, Sahin and I made the beautiful hike along streams and waterfalls from Laza to Kuzun. From there we drove to Baku, and as we arrived early - Sahin took me on a private tour in Baku, including places less frequented by tourists. These were 4 brilliant days. The paths are still little-trodden, the nature is pristine and the views are beautiful. You get to see some of the real Azerbaijan outside Baku city-centre, and meet this country's warm and friendly people and hear their stories. I'd like to thank Tural for arranging the logistics (and he had to contend with some surprises); the lovely and lively Gunay, the sun and moon of Azerbaijan, who led me during the first three days; the big-hearted Sahin who took care of me on the last day; Shaiq ("The Romantic Tour Guide" and tamer of shepherd dogs); and all the drivers and all the families I stayed at for their great hospitality. Not only do I recommend going on trips with Camping Azerbaijan if you're in Azerbaijan - it's worth making a trip to Azerbaijan just to hike with them. They have pre-arranged trips which you can join - or you can contact them to arrange private trips like I've done. They have very friendly and professional guides, and from what I've understood - they do a lot to support the communities I've visited. Can't recommend them enough.
