Ateshgah (Fire Temple) & Yanardagh Tour

Ateshgah

Ateshgah is fire temple built by ancient Zoroastrians in Absheron peninsula. Being the oldest fire temple in Azerbaijan, it still attracts many visitors, especially from Iran, India and other Middle East countries. The temple consists of walls, various rooms, fire spots and other historical monuments. Visitor together with guide walks through these rooms and gets information about the place, history, traditions of worshipers and etc.

Yanardagh

Guests will be taken to Yanardagh, located in Digah village. This is a spot of naturally burning gas, which comes out of ground. The fire here started many centuries ago and still burning. Although the size of the fire decreased over large exploration of gas resources in Absheron, the place is still very interesting and authentic. Here guests can see this natural event and also have a short break on nearby cafe with the view to fire.

Excellent tour conducted by Guide Gulshan of tes tour. She explained everything very well covered all details about the area weather environment traditional history and about heritage sites in the area. She showed us very old renovated Mosque built in 8th Century. After s sumptuous lunch at a local Restaurant she took us to Gobala Cable car the most candid attraction of the area. She is very lively and gossipmonger and never let us feel tire and bore after Long trip. She also helped me repair my mobile for which I am so thankful to her. Malik Bakht Mob:03125198873

We spent 1/2 day visiting the amazing sites of Gobustan area and the mud volcanoes. Our guide spoke fluent English and had an indepth knowledge of the sites we visited. He had a great interest in our home country too so we had a great time comparing things between Azerbaijan and Australia. All in all great value for money with a guide who obviously is very proud of his country.
