Small but superb location
Oct 2019
The park isn't that big. Few benches and some fountains. There are lot of restaurants in the park's surroundings. Nice place to spend a lazy evening.
There is a merry-go-round located in a corner of the park

My walking path
Oct 2018
This park is part of the park that we normally took when we take our dog fro walk or for just hang out for easy afternoon walk. This park is not far from where we lived in Baku 20 years ago.

Nice but very compact
May 2019 • Solo
Situated just outside of the Old City this is not a very big/grand park but neat and tidy and provides nice shade in the hot times. Also there is a very large fountain also helping to provide the cooling influence.

A park for a most important poet
Aug 2018 • Solo
Nizami's book Laila ve Madjnoon is extremely important for the literary history of the complete region so it is an excellent idea to name a park after the poet to honour his life and achievements.
The park itself is very well kept and allows you to relax when visiting Baku's Old City.

Big park at City centre
Aug 2018 • Solo
Nizami garden is a large park located just around the museum of literature and is very near the central part of town. The is a very big statue of Nizami, the poet, which can be an attraction. The place is pretty cool just to relax after walking around the city centre.

Majnoon Laila
Apr 2018 • Family
Majnoon Laila is a book I read when I was little. Laila is a pretty girl and the guy loved her till he became crazy...
Anyway, Nizami is famous for 5. One of the poems he wrote was Majnoon Laila.
Such a big park with a huge statue of Nizami.

Nice park, but BEWARE of police scams there!!!
Nov 2017 • Friends
First about the park. It's a very nice park up the stairs from the National literature museum, around the Nizami's monument. It has many benches nice to rest, looking at the massive old walls of old Baku across the street. Naturally, you'll head there to enter the old town. Here's a scam.
At the closest park spot to the walls there's no pedestrian crossing and everybody crosses there. But, there's police targeting ONLY tourists (easily recognized by maps and cameras). They want to fine you 20 manat (10 Euros) per person, or to take you to a station to make a record, pay there, bla bla bla.... which certainly no tourist wants on his holiday.
Then you argue with him for some time, after which he agrees for a half penalty. I didn't have lower note than 100 manat, which I gave him and he changed it with the near by taxi driver, returned me the change and just walked away. No official fine ticket given.
Baku is a safe city with plenty of police everywhere and I bet most of them do their job honestly, but such are a disgrace for them and they spoil a picture about their city.
