We visited the hammam on Friday (as only Mondays and Fridays are days for women) - we went around 4 pm, but bounced from the door, as there were so many customers inside that they were not letting anybody else in. We returned 2 hours later and entered, but it didnt mean that the number of people inside was reduced. The experience turned out to be very authentic, as we were the only tourists and the rest of people attending were locals. For the price of 45 AZM you get the scrub and a short massage, plus unlimited time in the sauna and hammam itself. It was fun to watch local women socialising in hammam like in the old times. The place is quite antique ( we adored the brass faucets and showers as well as little pool with cold water) with a tea drinking room decorated with seats, pillows and bunches of leaves used in sauna hanging from the ceiling. Definitely worth the while, but do expect some chaos - which however is a part of the local charm.

An old hammam (more like a Russian bathhouse but more humid) with unusual and original spa treatments. The massage from Vagif is rough and quite uncompromising, if you can go for it. They beat me with brooms like in a Russian bath, put me on needles, smeared me with ginger, chocolate, peeling-soaping - the whole package 80 manats until all chakras opened) and treated me to tea (unlimited). Overall it’s nice but a little expensive, the second time you can just go to the hammam for 10 manats without all the spas. Not many people

I passed by the hamam on my visit to Icherisheher. I enquirers about their services and prices. It seemed reasonable to me and the facility was clean and well maintained.

So, I ended up purchasing the AZN 65 package which includes scrubbing, sauna, massage (30 mins), and special scrub with coffee, salt, and honey (5 mins each). I felt completely rejuvenated at the end of the treatment. The owner/manager Orxan is a cheerful guy who speaks decent English.

I wholeheartedly recommend this hamam compared to Taza Bey Hamam which is more touristy.

The hamam was easy to get to, but when i arrived the service of the hamam was not what i expected at all. The towels that were used are small and not so clean. The staff dont speak english and made me pay up front for the hamam service which was scrub, massage and suna 65 manat. I did not like the scrubbing or that they did not have a male for massage only female. I only had the scrub done and as i was about to leave he asked me to pay again! I told him that they should return my money cause i didn't get the massage or suna done, after asking his boss he realized i payed full and returned 40 manat. Not a good experience , will never return again.

This historical hamam was just a few meters from my hotel in the old city. I went in the morning just as it opened and I was the only one there. It was my first hamam experience and it felt felt really good. I was well guided to it by my scrubber who communicated with gestures.

I visited the hamam on my own, and the people who worked there were very friendly and helpful, even if there was a bit of a language barrier. I did the package that was 45 manat, which included a sauna, a body scrub, a full body massage, another body scrub, a shampooing and conditioning, a short head massage, and tea. Every time I finished one portion, I was directed to the next part. It wasn't fancy, but I actually liked that; it was clearly a place that locals went, and so it felt like a more authentic experience. By the time I left, my skin felt smoother than ever before and I was completely relaxed. It was probably the most thorough hamam experience I've ever had. If I'm ever back in Baku, I'm definitely heading back!

What an experience. This bath has exclusively female days Mondays and Fridays. You get the full bath, sauna and exfoliation routines. Comparable to the best baths of Turkey. This building adds to the experience as the crossing arch and the domes create a strange impact. This bathhouse was built in the 18th century by Haji Aga Mikayil in an area of Old City designated for bathhouse attendants. I really enjoy experiences in historic buildings so this was real treat for me.

Sometimes during a trip
You want to meet real people.
This is the place: The Aga Mikayil Hamam

The Space:
You will go down the stone stairs and enter the outer space of the hamam: the meeting place, where the wooden lockers stand out. Your key will be placed inside the bronze bowls, next to the parapet of a fountain. A staircase will take you to the second floor, the massage room or if you continue straight, you will cross a door that opens a corridor where there is a large bathroom. You will continue and you will reach the inner space of the hamam. The sun will descend from the domes creating a dense, timeless atmosphere. The light will bathe the treatment beds located around a fountain. On the perimeter you will access the showers, the deep, elevated cold bath whose access through a ladder will place you under a secondary dome. Along the walls, there are benches with red plastic buckets where clients will wash their bodies. And finally, on one side, the steam sauna, with wide wooden benches, through which the steam generated by a whistling pressure machine will rise through its holes.

The people:
The owner, Orxan, a very frank, warm and friendly gentleman, will guide you through the different services that you can hire. You will be aware of the special bond that exists between him and the workers: Orxan, Isciler Vaqif, Arif, Jale, Elsad, Vaqif, Arif, Jale, Elsad, Elsen and Fexri
I was treated by Fexri and that is why he is the best.
Fexri is a unique person: a free spirit, a mix of strength, vigor and sweetness. He is very professional and feels very happy doing his job, which he does with great performance. It is difficult to forget his smile and his massages.
He performed the following services on me:
Salt and honey
Secret cream from his grandfather
Hot towels
Leaves treatment
Scraping
Suction cups
Body Washing
Fexri's dream is to treat everyone and improve the quality of life of his clients, so he gave me his contact information whatspp +994513364028 so that you can hire him. If he treats you, tell him that I, Juan, advise you, he will be happy

The food:
When you leave the treatment, they will treat you with their best selections of tea, blackberry jam, fresh fruit like pomegranate, a very digestive tea and even vodka. If it were all year round, I am sure I would discover more delicacies of Azerbaijani food.

The space, the people and the food
make this place
a community
come in and you will belong to it

Wow, the massage was incredible. On the initial entry, it doesn't look much, but as you start to talk with the staff there, there's a kind of special feeling about the place. I had the basic scrub/massage, and boy did the masseur do a good job - highly recommended. At the end, enjoy a cup of tea and some jam.
