Used them for transport on 3 occasions. Brilliant each time. Emails answered quickly, clean cars and good drivers. Will definitely use again.

When we decided to travel to Azerbaijan with my friend, Noémi, we also looked for a possible local guide to show us around Baku and wrote for Private Tours Azerbaijan for asking some questions concerning the trips and the possibilities. The first surprise was, that the answer was in our mailbox promptly and all of our questions were answered clearly. After the first e-mail we changed several others, because we wanted to get suggestions about good of restaurants, traditional dance events or even opera program and although these were not planned part of our booked tour, they were very helpful and informed us about everything. So, we were already happy with their services before arrival. First day Yalchin guided us through the all sights tour. He was very kind and patient ( :) ) with us, we never felt that we need to hurry and the program was very flexible according to our wishes. He has great sense of humor and beside the information about Azerbaijan and its history we also could have easy chats on the way from one point to the other. On the second day we travelled to Lahic and our guide was Rafael, who was also very nice and helpful through the trip. After visiting Lahic he drove us to Tufandagh, although it was not the part of our planned trip. We really felt, that this day is for us, that he wants us be happy with the programs and we are very greatful for that. In the short part of this trip we joined to his other colleague, Rafael, who was guided an other guest and we spent this short time together in a very pleasant mood. So, guys, we are really appreciate that you made our short trip in Azerbaijan for an unforgettable adventure, we are happy to know you all and next time, when we will travel to your country, we will surely contact you again! We highly recommend the services of Private Tours Azerbaijan to everybody, who want to visit this beautiful country and want to know more about its history and also about the daily life. My friend and I decided to travel to Azerbaijan because we wanted to see more of the region after having such a good experience traveling in Armenia and Georgia. We booked this tour after reaching out to several companies in Azerbaijan because Yalchin was incredibly responsive and understood what we were looking for in our trip. I found that other companies were unresponsive or I had trouble communicating with them in English.

We arrived at 4am on a Friday and a driver met us at the airport and took us to our hotel. Yalchin was our guide the first two days. He was knowledgeable about the area and enjoyable to chat with along the way. We went to the small village of Lahic one day and it was really interesting. One of Yalchin's driver's Amil took us to Lahic and despite claiming his English wasn't very good, we understood him perfectly. Lahic was very unique and worth the trip. The landscape was beautiful and the people were lovely. Baku itself surprised me in how modern it is and how much there is to see and do in the local area. Overall, the service was great and this company made the most of our short time in Azerbaijan. The overall cost and value was also excellent.

We booked the tour mainly due to the great reviews on TripAdvisor. Our goal was to avoid group tours and also have a shorter tour since we didn't want to spend all day driving around. The guide Yalchin offered us a 8-16 tour to Qabala and some other small towns and it sounded really good, so we booked him. He was friendly and spoke great English but that was also the only positive part about the trip.

The tour ended up taking from 8-23 (!!!) with the guide being late in the morning. He kept pushing the return time all day saying that we would be back in Baku at 18, then 20, then 22 and then finally at 23... Very unprofessional. Also, he suggested us to skip a city to go to another, Sheki, instead. He said, that it would be an approximately 50 minute drive. As tourists, we had no idea where it was and trusted him but it ended up being a 5 (!!) hour detour. When we arrived our guide wanted to rest at a hotel due to driving and just dropped us off leaving us alone resulting in that we never found the palace or museum we should visit. When meeting him again, we just pretended that we found it. Before leaving Sheki he also made us drink tea for more than 40 minutes at his friend's house. That wasn't what we wanted and we just felt like going home. We ended up spending more than 12 hours in the car and only a few hours actually seeing the landscape. Furthermore, we paid him 400 Manat which is WAY too expensive for this kind of service. He basically lied to us about the duration of the tour - if he can't drive this much he shouldn't be offering that sort of tour and just say no. We didn't feel like we had a "real guide", merely a talkative driver who just wanted our money.

So, overall, we didn't have a great day. It wasn't critically bad either, but Yalchin was not really a professional - more a private guy liking to make tourists pay insane amounts of money - and compared to other guided tours we have tried as experienced travelers, we cannot give more than two stars or recommend him for anyone.

I booked a trip through this company during my stay in Baku as it sounded convenient: An 8 hour trip to see different parts of Azerbaijan.

However, it ended up being a 16 hour trip where the guide, Yalchin, kept postponing our return back to Baku. First we were supposed to be back at 20, then 21, then 22 and then, finally, I was back at 23:15 in the night. Not what I expected.

The guide offered to take me and my girlfriend to Sheki at no extra cost, and since I hadn't visited the country before, I accepted the offer. However, this prolonged the trip for additional 5 hours. How would I know since I haven't travelled in the country before? When we finally got to Sheki, the guide was too tired to show us anything and told us that he needed to rest before the 6 hour drive back to Baku.

If I just wanted a driver, and not a guide, I wouldn't pay 400 manat - which is a complete rip off for this kind of service. You would expect more at that outrageous price.

Avoid at all costs.

As it's duplicated review previously written by your girlfriend Lois, I thank you for sharing your thoughts as well. I am sorry to hear you were unsatisfied just like your girlfriend. However, TripAdvisor community needs to know the truth: - The trip took longer time as you forgot to mention that you stopped in Qabala and took a rope line, you also did not mention that your lunch was covered by us and that in Sheki we have paid for your drinks. If you were offered to be taken to the additional place that means the tour will be longer, as we are not an airplane company and do not fly. You are right in one thing that we have offered to take you to Sheki for no extra charge and hence you are dissatisfied with us. I wonder how many stars you would give us if we just followed the itinerary and haven't paid for your lunch and tea. - The trip from Baku to Sheki and back is more than 700 km (including stops in Qabala and Ismayilli) and you have paid 400 manats (190 EUR). So if making a simple calculation you will see that we have charged you only 27 cents per kilometer. The price includes English speaking driver, new model car, meals, and drinks. Do you know any taxi driver that will take you to Sheki for that price? If you do, please forward his details and we will advertise his services. - All our guides/drivers do not exceed the speed limit on the freeway. May be back in Denmark you do that often, but we don't, as the safety of our passengers is more important than anything else. That is why it took a bit longer than you expected. Normal people would have enjoyed the countryside along the way and guide's stories, however, its seems like you were too busy thinking of money you have spent and calming down your girlfriend who was screaming yelling on the way back to Baku for unknown reason. Taking into consideration your young age, it's quite understandable that teenagers like you prefer Disneyland type of place rather than historical places. However, no one has enforced you to book a tour to the region from us, and hence your girlfriend did not like it, it was obvious that you will write a negative review. But thanks for promoting Sheki tour and sharing price with other customers.

I arranged with Yalchin an eight days comprehensive tailored program for me and my wife in OCT-2015. He arranged the visas for us. Yalchin met us with Rafael after arrival at the hotel and walked around with us to show us some places in the old city. Rafael was our excellent guide/driver during the following seven days.
On the first day we visited the Ateshgah fire temple and then went to Gala where we visited the Ethnographical Museum and the naturally flame at Yanar Dagh Mountain. Then stopped at Heydar Mosque on the way back to Baku. On the second day we went to Gobustan to visit the museum and the very interesting Rock Art open air museum. We made some stops in way back to take photos at Bibi Heybet Mosque, Azerbaijan National Flag and Heydar Aliyev cultural center and then we visited the Dağüstü park. At the end we had dinner at one of the delicious seafood restaurants proposed by Rafael.
On the Third day we started early heading from Baku to Shamakhi where we visited the Juma Mosque and the seven domes. We stopped in the way to drink tea with the cookies Rafael provided as gift from him mom. We continued up the mountain to Lahij village where visited some of the small workshops and bought a traditional tea samovar. It was interesting to walk through the small streets but most of the shops were closed. We spent the night at Gabala.
On the Fourth day, went by the Rope Line to enjoy the amazing Gabala mountains views. In the way to Sheki, we visited the Friday mosque where the Mosque Emam welcomed me. In Sheki, we visited the Palace, Karavansaray and the Friday mosque/ madrasah. We bought some souvenirs and sweets. Then we had dinner at Chalabi Khan restaurant.
On the Fifth day, Rafael derived towards Ganja through Mingachevir where we visited one of the beaches near the Dam but it wasn't much interesting. We went to Goy Gol Lake through roads with attractive mountain views. The lake view was amazing but boat riding was not available.
On the Sixth day, we visited the bottle house, old Hamam, old Mosque and the historic museum of Ganja. Then we went through about 6 hours drive to Quba
On the Seventh day, we went to Xinaliq village on the top of the mountain. No much to do in the village itself but the way up the mountain was the most attractive part of our eight days where you can't resist stopping in the cold weather to see and photograph the amazing panoramic mountain views.
Thanks to Yalchin for helping me in organizing the program and for Rafael who guided us by his experience and was very flexible to stop in the way whenever we ask to take photos or to buy fruits, corn, wall nuts, Azeri bread and honey or to drink tea or to have a quick meal. He accompanied us to the airport and didn't leave us till we crossed the check-in point.

We used Rafael as our guide for a 5 day tour of Azerbaijan. The company responded quickly to emails and helped us arrange an itinerary that suited us well. Rafael followed the itinerary perfectly and even went the extra mile when we needed extra time or more information. I would book with Private tours Azerbaijan again , in a heartbeat. Their price for value and service provided is unbeatable. Highly recommended!

4 friends from Norway in our late 50s. Been in Georgia and Armenia previously. Wamted to see Azerbaijan on a short trip. Contacted Yalchin, who replied promptly, and was very helpful when our flight was changed to earliier arrival at short notice.
Rafael picked us up early at the airport, we got a few hours sleep, and then started the All sights tour at 11am to suit us. Good English, attentive and aleays open to adapt the program to our wishes. Fire Temple and Yanar Dag before lunch by the Caspian Sea, followed by Gobustan and the Mud volcanoes. Seperate guides at the attractions, who knew their stuff. 40 year old local Lada offroad to the mud volcanoes was fun.
Next day Laila met us at the hotel and guided us around Baku, including a good lunch in the Old Town. Spent far longer time with us than the tour program, and gave a good insight in the opinions of a young urban teacher/student. All questions answered diplomaticly!
Next day Rafael drove us to the mountains and Qubala. Good roads in Azerbaijan...their neighbours should take note! Interesting to see the countryside, Interesting contrast to modern Baku. Again all questions answered, good lunch, and we felt we had understood a bit more of how Azerbaijan is in 2018.

Rafael and Laila are proud of their country, and this shines through. Azerbaijan is a safe country to be a tourist, and the people are very hospitable.

Would absolutely recommend this tour company. Also Rafael and Laila. Tell them who you are, and what you want from your tour...they will do the rest.

I recently spent a few days in Baku and had asked Private Tours Azerbaijan to plan some tours for when I was going to be there. They couldn't have been more accommodating and arranged everything from picking me up on arrival to dropping me off when I departed. In between I spent three days touring with them and had a great time exploring Baku and the local areas around it. It's a beautiful city made even better by Private Tours Azerbaijan.
