About
Edvard Isabekyan gallery was founded in 2004 and opened in 2013. Edvard Isabekyan’s son Aram Isabekyan has donated 28 of Edvard’s well known paintings to the city of Yerevan that were presented in his permanent exhibition. Irina Isabekyan has been the director of the gallery since its opening. Edvard Isabekyan’s art is being displayed on the both floors of the gallery. On the circular shaped top floor are his large epical paintings. The painter’s view on history transforms today power, pride, virility and the spirit of past victory. Edvard Isabekyan’s gallery is actively involved in Yerevan’s cultural life. The gallery’s director Irina Isabekyan organizes events, lectures and meetings that are aimed to discover Edvard Isabekyan as a painter, writer, educator, caring citizen but foremost as a patriot.

This was one of the first galleries that I visited in Erevan. And I advice you to do the same. Let me explain. There are many other galleries and museums but all of them kinda similar. I mean it feels like every other gallery (beside national museum) tells you the same story - Erevan is that, Erevan is this ... blah blah blah. But this one, beside being small, it gave me very rich understanding of whole Armenian nation through the paintings of one very talented man - Eduard Isabekyan! You can literally feel the spirit of this amazing country and its beautiful people. I really really advice you to visit this place! Yes, condition of it leaves much to be desired, you won't see clear walls and modern equipment. But you'll see something unique, something more beautiful, something sacred! Special thanks to one cute girl (museum keeper) who helped me with audio guide and told me herself many interesting facts.

Very interesting gallery, you can comfortably walk around in 30minutes and every painting has a qr code where you can find out more about them. The place is not crowded so you can comfortably enjoy every painting you are interested in. You can also sit on some benches and look at the collection. The staff is also very kind and helpful. I recommend it to every art lover who has some time to spend in the area.

Although the building and it's conditions are not the best around, the art displayed inside will totally leave you in awe!
Isavekyan contributed a lot to the Armenian community and his style in painting and drawing is extraordinary.
Ophelia, the guide, was extremely friendly and nice. She made our visit very enjoyable.
This gallery is a must visit if you want to see some good art and a fraction of what Armenian culture is really about!

The building is very nice, there's a QR code on every art piece so it's easy to understand the artists vision. You can ask the guide if you need more details. Our guide was so sweet and welcoming. Eduard's technique is so interesting, it's totally worth to take a look.

Great local gallery, with nice collection of art from national artist Eduard Isabekyan. 2 floors of gallery demonstrate great number of drawings supported with audio guide. Administrator is very friendly, opened for conversations and assistance. The price of tickets is more than affordable. 100% recommend to visit.

Since being in Yerevan, I have been to this gallery twice. It is wonderfully presented and the most stunning art. I absolutely love how one of Isabekyan's paintings (The Battle of Avaryar) is revealed to you as you go up the central staircase. The most recent time, I was lucky enough to come across the current exhibition of Isabekyan's later works, when he was becoming blind. It was fascinating to see the breadth of styles and subjects the artist covered and to witness its progression. Plus, the administrator is wonderful! So knowledgeable and even remembered me when I came back after 2 months. It's a perfect place if you want to get a feel of Armenian culture and the Armenian spirit. I'm so happy I stumbled across here. Go not only for the amazing art, but also to keep supporting this great place!

Very nice and interesting exhibition. There are 2 sets of work, first oil period of artist confains beautiful paintings, with unusual color pallete and great composition, very interesting technique and .ix of dreaming and realism. Second set of works is the latest period of Isabekyan contains a lot of different works made with different materials. Those paintings are very expressive and have brighter cor palette, but still great composition. Stuff was very friendly. Good place to visit in Yerevan

Excellent selection of paintings covering a broad range of styles. Explanations and history behind the pieces were provided in excellent English by the knowledgeable museum staff. Many of the pieces demonstrate the close interaction that the artist had with European art movements.
