This statue shows an old man, who plays backgammon. This is very popular timespending game in Armenia and most of people know the rules, furthermore it has become traditional table game in this country.

Yerevan City is full of monument, museum, and statue. Backgammon is a Chess like interesting ancient game common among Turkish Persian and Caucasian. Armenian​ also like it. It's interesting for a tourists to see, sit beside and take a memorable photo with the monument and metallic statue of a Backgammon player, while roaming around the yerevan city. We like it

we'll it's a astatue, but I was more surprised seeing people playing backgamon so much. and with such an audience. and whole groups totaly into it. better to see the real thing than a statue.

The monument is situated on the street, not far from Yeritasardakan Metro station. You can seat and have a picture with the backgammon player monument.
