I really enjoyed it. We stumbled to it on the street. It was clean, run by grandmas mostly. Sometimes they are intimated by internal tourists and can be a little scary and Soviet but that’s ok. I don’t expect them to understand the world of apps and ratings, I am happy to see them engaging in the comments and the world. The museum was three floors with nice art by my favorite Armenian painter. These are his smaller works, the big ones are at the national museum. We also found his studio and some interior rooms, there are nice documents and awards of the Soviet era. It’s not documented well but I did not mind that, it does not removed the experience of the work. If they wanted to up the game, I would just maybe ask for some more English context and documentation of the artist. It took me a little to realize it was his actual house, he lived 92y old and was recognized during his lifetime which was incredible. Enjoy! There are lots of hidden rooms so poke around!

Most people who visit Yerevan come to Saryan street because of its wine bar and restaurants. But before In Vino and ever other place here, this is a street where one of the greatest Armenian artists lived and where his family still leaves and runs his museum. Don’t miss it.

The whole set-up works very well with galleries of the work of this artist who had a long and varied career. Having his studio set-up added a personal touch to museum. It was a gem of a small museum and deserves to be on the intinerary of anyone who likes art.

If you start your visit to Armenia by looking at Saryan’s paintings, you’ll see it like he did. If you end your visit this way, you’ll remember Armenia like he saw it.

Realistically speaking - don't expect a large museum - it simply is not. It is a small but very well organised and curated museum in the heart of the Kentron with a magnificent collection of art by Martiros Saryan whose various periods and styles are grouped together. Between the use of vivid colors to depict nature, rural life and in one case, my favorite paining of the Sourp Asdvadzadzin Church an art lover will find something that speaks to them quite easily. His studio, personal photos and furniture also tell you a bit more about this fascinating artist. Highly recommended for a visit!

Martiros Saryan is probably the most celebrated Armenian painters, for his amazing use of color and vividness and vitality in his work. The themes of his paintings also carry with them something unmistakably Armenian. If you are an artists, the visit is sure to inspire something in you.
In my opinion an absolute gem of an artist and museum, but have not been here for a while to be able to comment on state of the construction.

delightful museum always under construction!. Unfortunately the beautifule large mosaic facade depicting one of his paintings is blocked by a large tree. His workshop must be seen but you need to ask for it!!!!!!

A small but thorough museum, 3 floors, spanning his paintings and drawings and a re-created studio space. Very nice visit!

This is a world class gallery. Having visited galleries in Europe in recent years, I can attest that this is world class. The gallery is over 2 floors with some of Saryan’s famous works - one floor is his residence as it stood. The place is maintained by his granddaughter and as such it is very good quality.

Keep doing what you’re doing!
