Christmas celebrations seemed to be in full swing when we visited this square in the center of Yerevan. A giant Christmas tree adorned the square center while carols could be heard throughout the night. A festive atmosphere indeed!

The spirit of Yerevan if not whole Armenia. The center of the Armenian capital where many local and international restaurants, cafes and shops located. The national museum is also located in it. Take walking tours at day and night to fully enjoy it.

We were staying nearby and decided that we needed to get a feel for Yerevan after our arrival....and wow this impressive square didn't disappoint! There was a celebration of some sort happening and all the locals were out as well as a lot of tourists such as ourselves. A must see in beautiful Yerevan.

A large spacious square but with the main roads passing through its a little broken up and you’ll have to wait to cross the roads to get between the various buildings. The architecture is great to admire and there’s plenty of places to sit if you’re wanting to watch the world go by. Lots of security roaming around too makes it feel safe. Naturally a must visit on a first time trip to the city.

at main square do not miss the dancing fountains , they are gorgeous full of color and people. there are restaurants, coffee shops and bars open, the city feels very safe a lot of families enjoying the fountains. the fountains are in from of the Best Western plus hotel.
