The most traumatic and sad experience, I visited with my family, unaware of what to expect. Couldn’t watch the show, I left during as I couldn’t stand to watch the animal abuse. I walked around the island as the show continued and Saw an “instructor” beat a baby or very small monkey with a stick, they have music on the island to mask the sounds of the animals, there were numerous dogs all caged up in a dark closed off room behind the stage. Monkeys were dressed up and chained. ‘Instructors’ and supposedly care takers were walking around with a stick in their hands. DO NOT go there and support this monstrosity.

One of the worst forms of Animal Abuse it’s disgusting and needs to be shut down

Took a Grab from city Center to the Orchid Island and Monkey Island Tourist Wharf, took 30 mins and costs 300,000VND. However, we had difficulty to get a Grab back to the city and ended up calling a private driver with the same costs but waited 45 mins. Best to arrange transport before going.
We opt not to use tour group as they usually do a whole day trip. We finished the island activities in less than 4 hours including lunch. Bought tickets at the wharf, only cash accepted. 15 mins boat ride, there’s boats available every 30mins. But we waited for an hour for return. Lunch was nice local food and again they only accept cash. Lots of files and mosquitoes. Tables were dusty. Spent around 500000VND for 2 mains, 1 veg and 1 spring rolls plus 4 can drinks.
We took the tourist golf cart which cost 200000 VND as it’s too hot to walk. Not much monkeys to see if you walk. Best to take the cart as it will take you further in. Cart will stop at a place where’s there’s a small stall selling drinks and biscuits for monkeys. They will run over and eat the biscuits. They are attracted to plastic bags and bottled drinks.
There’s Go karts but there’s wasn’t anyone around. Looks old and a very small course.
We went for the monkey show but couldn’t stay to watch as the monkeys looks miserable.

The trip was with Fun& Sun. The guide Yuri told us all the way on the bus how good, friendly and sweet creatures macaques are. He told me how to feed so that the animals would not take the food. But he didn’t say anything about the fact that monkeys can be very aggressive. Moreover, they are aggressive even towards those who do not feed them, and in general, do not show any activity. The sister was standing in the shade and watching the animals when one of the monkeys attacked from behind, bit and hung on her arm. Another attacked the man on his back and bit him very hard, causing blood to flow. Two more in our group were scratched. At the hospital they gave me 3 tetanus injections and an anti-rabies injection. Due to the incident, we were unable to go to Orchid Island and were left without lunch. Fun&Sun refused to pay any compensation. We do not recommend visiting this island at all, and especially with the above-mentioned company! The animals there are beaten and not fed, so they fight over food and are ready to tear to pieces for food((((

Visited this island with family, Monkey bit Dad in the arm, looked at here for 10 minutes, monkeys aggressive, angry. When you buy bananas see that the seller doesn't cut them, that's why the monkey smelled it and jumped on dad. the island is not directly interesting, I wouldn't advise, especially with the kids.

A 15 minute ferry ride from the mainland to this paradise island. Beautifully manicured garden, stunning beach with gentle lapping sea, great photo opportunities abundant. The monkey population are non aggressive. Just the best way to spend a nice relaxing day...

Be sure to go, especially with children.. Cool, beautiful, the excursion does not take much time.
The monkeys are cool, but when they are hungry they snatch everything out of their hands.. I fed one, she sat on my shoulder.. We managed to take a photo.. I recommend

If you have any love of animals, the environment or plant life, avoid Monkey Island and Orchid island (often part of the same tour). On both is an animal show which dresses up monkeys, bears, dogs and elephant and has them perform circus tricks for the "entertainment" of the audience. The animals are clearly unhappy and I doubt they are well treated off stage. You can bet on certain acts such as the monkeys motorbike or swimming race of even where they ride dogs down a track. Orchid island has next to no orchids on it however both islands, particularly away from the main areas, have piles of litter and rubbish, a lot of which appears to have been burnt. Please do not encourage these people by making the same mistake I did. Stay away.

Animal cruelty all around, from Monkeys to bears. Please do not visit or fund this Island as you can tell the animals are distressed. I regret going and wish i could un-see the place for myself. Again please do not visit and do not fund animal cruelty. Thank you.

Avoid this place at all costs, this is the central of animal cruelty, they dress bears up whilst they are chained up (and probably drugged up), they also have a snake with its mouth sellotaped up ready for photos, they force the bear to ride on a motorcycle parading in front of people, but the worst of it all was the monkeys they forced to ride the dogs and swim for the amusement of Chinese / Japanese tourists who appeared to love it - avoid this place at all costs.

We were booked to go here as part of our travel package, thinking we would be seeing wild monkeys. When we arrived, we realized there were trained animals there, doing tricks like a circus act. It wasn't until we saw the dog race that I realized there was a problem. The monkeys were hooked to the backs of the dogs and they did not want to be there. The handlers kept putting little riding helmets on the monkeys' heads and they would pull them off again. I saw a handler put a helmet back on a monkey's head and then hit the monkey because he had taken it off multiple times.

Please save your money and don't support these people mistreating these animals.
