This is not your typical touristy market but an actual genuine Vietnamese market where the locals come to shop. A large section is devoted to fresh produce and the rest is many small stalls selling anything and everything you can thing of. The prices are a lot cheaper than Cho Dam market and the place is a lot more genuine and atmospheric.

You've seen markets like this around the world and at the end of the day what ever price they offer - start below 50% with the hope of ending up at least 50% off
We got some great bargains - yes the shop owners are non stop inviting you to look at their wares but we never found them unpleasant - we just went in with smiles on our faces and took our time working out what the average price was and going from there
If you really want something - go in low and be prepared to walk away - you will find it again at another stall
Enjoy the experience

My friend, who is a local person in Nha Trang, told us about this market. Xom Moi offers a wide range of products , souvenirs, specialty food, sea food. People in this market are more friendly and ask cheaper prices than in Dam Market. The locale frequently shop here as well. Near Xom Moi market, you can find some stores selling sea food with price tag, so you don't have to bargain.

This is the local market where the local people go to buy their groceries and if I lived nearby I would probably be giving it 5 stars for choice, value, etc
As a tourist attraction, it's less impressive, dark and uninviting although not necessarily unfriendly as such. I walked through on the way back from visiting somewhere else and am glad I did not make a point of going here, it would have been a bit of a waste

We’ve been wondering around Nha Trang for a few days hoping to find some deals. We went to Nha Trang Center and Vincom Center mall. We found the prices to the same if not more than back home ( Canada ). Headed to Xom Moi market and found this is the place your going to find better deals. I should mention if your not looking to spend a lot of money. Knock off purses, bags, wallets and clothes. We found some good deals on shoes and watches ($50 rolex, $35 MK) type stuff just outside the market in a few shops.

Real local market. No tourist merchandise offered. Extremely hot inside with poor air circulation. Not the cleanest place either.

This market provides us with a peek at life in Vietnam where the locals go to the market each day to buy fresh produce and meats.

This is where to housewives pick up the fresh food for their families and barter with the sellers. The streets are narrow and together with the crowds of shoppers there are loads of motor cycles and scooters competing for space. The fumes are quite unpleasant after a time. Colourful but choking!

First time traveling in family with a newborn, we choose to cook by ourselves.
My husband went seafood shopping, was prepared to bargain and to meet some tricky sellers, specially when it is a man going to the market, Actually the sellers were very nice. He was very excited, brought back bags and bags of fresh and good priced seafood. He wanted some chilies and lemons for 5,000vnd. The seller asked if he wanted to burn his stomach and gave him a bag full of chilies.

A good place for you if you want to take a look of the local market. Here you don't need bargain. We were searching for instant rice noodles in beef soup (pho bo) as souvenirs. The stall owners were friendly and willing to help even they were closing actually. The price was good too. Will definitely come back again at day time.

I would be interested to know if the markets sell clothing made by local people & if there are opportunities to have mud baths without a tour
Thank you. Sue

I believe it is open 0600 to 1800 and is a market primarily for the local people to shop for supplies.Be prepared to negotiate on the price.
Good luck!
