This is the cheapest market for tourist to get their stuff and souvenirs compare to other market. About 2 km from city center. Caters mainly for locals and tourist. They quote double the price for tourist. Bargain hard. Bargain 50% - 60% from the price they quote you. (Example: if they quote you VD200,000, then pay not more than VD100,000). Advise to tourist: bargain hard and buy all your stuff here. Better prices here compare to the city centre night market.

Best value and very good quality in clothing and shoes. Just barter very hard, never pay the first price, unless your good with it. Just remember you can get it cheaper. I just warn everyone to avoid the vegetables and fruit stands outside, they will rip you off big time. And they don’t back down. Take this as a warning. Do not buy anything from them.

Seen better days, traders tightly packed in but some bargains can be had. The night market has the same stuff but is better laid out with an overwhelming buzz. Enjoyed haggling to achieve a happy price.

This was an interesting market to visit with a wide range of fresh Vietnamese foodstuffs available, some still wriggling. There was also a range of souvenirs, clothing, craft items and footwear. (As with quite a few Asian markets reproductions of name brands were certainly present but the things I bought have lasted very well.) Prices generally were cheap anyway but haggling appeared to be the norm and even expected. The various aromas in certain parts were quite unique but it all added to an authentic experience.

We found this very local and less touristy market extremely interesting and fun! You won't experience a market like this anywhere in the west! It seemed to crank up mid morning.
Wear your closed toed shoes or maybe even some rain boots! You'll be walking in fish juice and who knows what!
Local produce, seafood, and freshly prepared food all intertwined in small alleys with mopeds sneaking through. We saw toads for sale, Pig heads, huge fish, squid, eels, and many other interesting items. Delicious fruit available to support the local vendors as well. Smile, and take lots of pictures. You can't speak the language, but a smile speaks a thousand happy words. The vendors were kind when asked for photos.
A fascinating experience and a true taste of authentic Vietnam!

this has everything you need for a Vietnamese market... clothes, jewellery, electronics, shoes, food, you name it its here. Its dirty and the layout is haphazard but you can find what ever you may want.
Barter like crazy & you'll get a good price, offer 40-50% on their original price, walk away when they clutch their chest & they'll chase you down the aisle.
Its an Asian market, don't expect anything else & you wont be disappointed

A mainly tourist market, with some local food stalls thrown in for colour and smell. This is the place to buy that genuine $30 Rolex and all sorts of other copied items. Good fun if you don't mind haggling and want some cheap souvenirs.

We had a local guide who spoke excellent English and led us through the city to different sights. However the Dam Market was definitely a highlight for my western friends. Although we arrived there at a time when there was not too much happening anymore at the wet market, they all still got a very good impression of the smells and the sight. It was great walking from one area to the other, from wet market to vegetables and fruits, to shoes to household goods and clothing. This is an easy market to go to and to explore for Westerners who are not used to this type of market and can be a great learning experience of culture.

Markets were ok and we found most of the sellers wasnt too pushy compared to other places. Prices are chat they are in Vietnam and your view on a good deal is really individual but we thought some items were quite cheap. The space between stalls is really tight and hard to pass other shoppers. Outside the market is a bit of a mess and we found walking around wasnt that much fun.

We ventured here for a spot of souvenir shopping and weren't disappointed. Ensure you take a metered taxi, costs around 50vnd from centre of Nha Trang. Market is delapidated, smelly and so cram packed full of everything. Local food, and an uabundance of souvenirs. We were very surprised at the prices which were very low and we bartered even more to grab some bargains for the family. There is tshirts galore, bags, luggage, shoes, wallets, souvenirs of all sorts. It was very quiet from a tourist point of view but we didn't mind. We found 2 lovely guys who, owned stalls and didn't hassle us like others, so bought everything from them. They wrapped everything for us and we crunched the price and they were super obliging. We stayed just over an hour. Tip..if you find something and they won't give you a better price walk away as other stall holders will. If you want all the nha trang and Vietnam gifts for family and friends this is it. Don't be put off by its exterior, it's a little gem underneath. Our one stop shop for gifts and so much less than the street or night market.

Hi Ms Wendy F.
By legal, you can change money in any Banks, which are on main street close to the DAM market. Hope you have a good time to visit this market.

Hi Patricia Can you tell me if they take AUD$$ in the market as we will be cruising there in December and only there for the day so don't want to change a lot of cash. Cheers Wendy

What are the toilets like at Dam Market? I am travelling with a disabled person and Asian toilets are not an option.

I don't recall seeing any toilets nor can I recall any hotels or restaurants nearby. Most of the plumbing outside of western type hotels and restaurants is quite crude and I don't know if you would be able to use them if you could find one suitable. I don't know how often you need the facilities, but agree with the above recommendation that if feasible going before you venture to the market would be better. Have you asked Nha Trang or Vietnam tourism?
